I saw that on the internet. That is incredible I think 8 hours, a new record. What is more incredible, he is age 62.

Shamie and Graham, I was flabbergasted when I read that.
Update
Went for a two mile jog/run this morning
Dinner last night was baked chicken thighs using homemade breadcrumbs and the side was a salad.
Have a great day!

Went for a two mile walk/jog this morning. If I'm going to continue I need to buy a new pair of running shoes because the ones I currently own are past their prime.
Today is the thirteenth anniversary of my father's death so I spent most of the morning visiting the graves of him, my mother, and my paternal grandparents who are all buried next to each other. A truly wonderful person who personified the Greatest Generation. I could write paragraphs, as I probably have in the past on JSF, but for now I'll just write that every day I try to emulate him, but in my mind I rarely reach that standard.
On a lighter note, dinner last night was meatloaf I cooked on my Kamado grill with mesquite wood and the side was cauliflower mashed potatoes.
Have a great day!

I took dear dog for a two mile walk and then did some ab work.
No cooking last night because I went to dinner with a friend. I'm alone for dinner tonight because wifey and dear son, separately, have plans. At the moment I'm not sure what I'm going to cook, but it won't be labor intensive. In other cooking news, the brisket I corned is currently desalinating and in the days to come will become pastrami.
Have a great day!

Just got a call from dear son that his dinner plans for tonight have changed and he will be home. He loves pasta and wifey likes to minimize carbs at dinner so assuming her plans to go out will not change I'm going to make a pasta dish with a salad for us. He asked me to make raviolis, but after being of the mindset that I wouldn't have a labor intensive meal, as I wrote earlier today, I don't know that I want to gear up for that. I will, however, start making a tomato sauce.

Just got a call from dear son that his dinner plans for tonight have changed and he will be home. I think I saw that he is working for Discovery... is he in NYC? Is he living close to home?

Just got a call from dear son that his dinner plans for tonight have changed and he will be home. I think I saw that he is working for Discovery... is he in NYC? Is he living close to home? Yes, he works for Discovery Communications which has a portfolio of many networks, Discovery Network being one of better known ones as well as HGTV, the Animal Planet, the Food Network, and small ones that few people have heard about, but in aggregate generate substantial revenue. The recent market cap of the company is about $15 billion, so it's not chump change. His office is in midtown Manhattan. Concerning living, he lives at home on our second floor, the same bedroom he's had his entire life with the exception of college. His plan is to save money and buy a place of his own and wifey and I are happy to support his path. Update
Nothing on the exercise front yet so I'll report once I actually do something. Right now I have some errands to take care of. TGIF!

Two mile walk in blustery weather with dear dog. I plan to do some core exercises this afternoon.
Due to events beyond anyone's control I wound up dining alone last night; dinner was fusilli with the sauce that I made along with a small salad. If all goes as planned I'm going to use the sauce as part of a cauliflower pizza tonight with a side salad. In other cooking news, my corned beef is ready for spicing to start turning it into pastrami; I just need to get my butt around to making and applying the rub.
Since it's the last Friday of the month we'll be doing our usual and going to a local tavern to listen to a band that plays there once a month.

Another workout in the books. Four rounds of:
Squat jumps High plank bird dogs Db step ups Trap bar squats Kb Romanian deadlifts Db squat presses
Dinner last night was the cauliflower pizza and salad that I wrote about and afterward we went to see the band I wrote about. Six neighbors joined us and it was a lot of fun. My lazy butt never got around to making the rub for what will eventually be pastrami, so that's on my "to do" list for today. Clearly a high standard to surpass [end sarcasm].
Have a great day!

I took dear dog for a two mile walk this afternoon and then fell asleep on my den couch while watching a movie.
The latest cooking news is that I made the pastrami rub and applied it to the brisket, which will be ready to smoke in a couple of days. While trimming said brisket I used an amateur technique and cut the ring finger on my left hand. No pain, but lots of blood and ridicule from family members. Dear dog was sympathetic.

Hoping the cut wasn't too severe.

Hoping the cut wasn't too severe. Thanks Mac. I'll be fine; it wasn't deep and less than an inch long so nothing drastic. The worst was being made fun of by wifey and dear son. It was a clean nip in part because I sharpened my knives earlier in the week and nothing that a simple band aid couldn't contain. Foolish technique on my part. Leaving in a few minutes to spend time with neighbors and watch a Tedeschi Trucks concert on PPV.

We're shortly going to be leaving to attend an annual St. Patrick's Day party at a friend's house so no exercise for today. My fitness objective is to make good food and beverage choices. I can't get away from the sodium in the corned beef, but I'll use good portion control and my beverages of choice are going to be water/seltzer, etc.
I underestimated the cut on my finger and the darn thing is now infected and swollen. Lots of Neosporin is in my future and depending upon how things go I may have to make some accommodations for tomorrow's workout.
Have a great day!
