We're shortly going to be leaving to attend an annual St. Patrick's Day party... Isn't it a bit early for that? Why is everybody getting cut/bleeding?!? I miss the confused and ohnoes smilies from JSF.

I underestimated the cut on my finger and the darn thing is now infected and swollen. My first thought was ... OMG I hope he doesn't get any of the pastrami rub in his cut.

I miss the confused and ohnoes smilies from JSF. Yes, M@ it is early. While every town has its locals the parades draw participants (bands, fire departments, etc.) from other areas and there is a coordination between towns. Where we were yesterday, Belmar NJ, holds its parade on the first Sunday in March. Thanks about the cut and like you miss some of the smilies, but I'm very glad to have the forum

Thanks. The swelling has gone down so things are on the mend.

Three rounds this morning of:
Stability ball planks Flat bench Db presses Flat bench Db flyes One arm Db bench rows Db squat presses Db curls Leg raises Bicycles Ab wheel rollouts
No cooking last night due to the party. I exercised good portion control, had no alcohol, and no dessert, but I'm feeling the effects of the high sodium. I'm trying to hydrate more than usual to flush my system.
Have a great day!

Usual Tuesday stuff; a 1.5 mile round trip walk to meet a friend for breakfast and I'll do some at home exercises this afternoon.
Dinner last night was fish chowder.
Have a great day!

Exercise so far has been 50 pushups (20,20,10) and this afternoon I'll take dear dog for a walk.
Dinner last night was chicken cooked in tomato sauce, sort of a cousin to chicken cacciatore. I served the entrée with pasta and a spring mix salad.
Have a great day!

Pretty much a carbon copy of yesterday; a walk with dear dog and push ups.
We're leaving tomorrow morning for a short vacation to Florida and aside from packing I've taken care of all the "little stuff" with the big exception being taking dear dog to a kennel. I seriously dislike the day before we leave; there's just too much stuff to take care of. Our only plans are to see family members and we'll be able to squeeze in some pool and exercise time.
With all the media attention about the virus, wifey is nervous and my step mom, who we're going to visit, suggested yesterday that we should consider changing our plans. While I wouldn't knowingly go to an area with a high concentration of illness, I'm not changing the plans we have and I'm not suggesting my kids do either.
Dinner last night was a bottom round roast that I tenderized in a sous vide bath for most of the day and then threw on my wood grill to sear and finish cooking. The sides were a salad and roasted asparagus.
Somebody (wifey) thought it would be a good idea to start our vacation a little earlier and go out for dinner. End result...not sure of the restaurant, but no cooking for me tonight. In other cooking news I finished dehydrating a few bananas that will be our snack on the plane and yesterday wifey brought in the last of my dehydrated apples and after sharing them with some co-workers they raved about them and asked if they could buy some. Not going to happen, but this past weekend I shared some of my beef jerky with a good friend and she asked me to make some for her. That I will do after we're back from the Sunshine State.
Have a great day!

We're leaving tomorrow morning for a short vacation to Florida... Florida's like at least five different regions. Where are you going and, more importantly, will you be able to drop in on and summarily terrify John Stone?! :spaz: At the moment, you're probably more likely to have a bath-salts crazed Florida-man try to eat your face than catch Coronavirus, but please be careful in the airport. Besides playgrounds, they're the most horrifying disease clusters we have in the states.

Besides playgrounds, they're the most horrifying disease clusters we have in the states. You're right about Florida's different regions. We're going to the southeast portion of the state, Boynton Beach, which a bit south of Palm Beach and north of Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton. We'll be hundreds of mile south of Mr. Stone so there's no chance I'll be paying what for him could possibly a heart attack inducing visit. :-) Wifey is packing lots of wipes that we plan to use liberally so I think we're in good shape with respect to Coronavirus, but given that we'll be in airports and then among elderly folks while in Florida the odds are higher of catching something than if I was at home, but I'm not changing our plans. Update
Packing is 90% done and we're going to be rolling at 6 AM tomorrow. I did 40 pushups (20,20) and took dear dog for a walk before I brought her to the kennel. She likes it there, but I'm always saddened when I have to drop her off. And before anyone asks, don't think for a nanosecond that wifey would do the deed.

We got back from Florida last night. The weather was mediocre, but while an improvement would have been nice, that wasn't really the point of the trip, but we did get some sun. The objective was to see a bunch of relatives and we accomplished that so all is good. The roster was my 87 year old stepmother, who the kids stayed with; my 80 & 78 year old cousins; my 88 year old uncle; my step brother, who is a contemporary, and his son. That dear daughter and dear son were with us for most of the trip just enhanced things.
Exercise-wise our budget hotel/motel had a poorly equipped gym, just a few cardio machines. I got on the dreadmill :puke: three times and then did various BW exercises such as push ups, ab work, and dips using a window ledge. Wifey did a bit more than me each time and did it four times.
Eating was generally healthy, but as opposed to me eating many small meals throughout the day while at home, with the exception of dinner which tends to be larger, we ate far less often and had bigger meals. Aside from one meal we at restaurants. I'm definitely bloated from a higher intake of sodium, but my weight gain was only a pound. Small victory???
I'll spare everyone the details, but while we were away my sister fractured her ankle and will going into surgery very early tomorrow morning. The logistics of such is that I likely won't be home for dinner tonight, so I'm going to prepare a beef dish for wifey and dear son. She will be coming back to our house for an indeterminate amount of time since she lives alone.
Going away is always fun, but it's nice to be home. I'll do some catching up with everyone as time allows.
Have a great day!
