Due to travel by my trainer my time with him this week has been switched from Mon. and Fri. to yesterday and tomorrow, which is why I saw him yesterday and will see him tomorrow instead of today. For today, by myself I did three sets of Db shrugs, a foolish decision in afterthought, and knee tucks. The shrugs were a poor decision because they impacted the crick in my neck so I can now expect another night of having to be mindful of how I'm sleeping and being rudely awaked/jolted when I don't. Fortunately, I'm not impacted with daily activities.
Dinner last night was a bottom round roast that I sous vided for 28 hours, reversed seared on my kamado, pan seared, and served a with a beef gravy. Long cooking process, but very little active work and the result was a really tender tasty offering from an inexpensive cut of beef. The side was air fryer roasted red potatoes seasoned with among other things rosemary.
Unusually for me, I'm going to finish by book club book a couple of days before the meeting. As for the other book, it's still MIA and I'll be calling the library to learn what the process is for replacing it.
Have a great day!

No cooking last night because we took my MIL to a doctor appointment and, as usual, went for a late lunch/early dinner afterward.

Exercise today was a two mile walk, followed by a two-ish mile stroll with wifey and dear dog. I then did three sets of across the chest Db curls.
No cooking last night because of my book club meeting; wifey and I foraged and nobody went hungry.
TGIF!

Four miles total is a nice walk. Thanks. Update‘Twas a close call this morning. I misread an email chain about my hiking club’s hike today and up until a few minutes before we were going to leave thought we were going to a destination about 75 miles away from where we were supposed to go. No harm, but it was close. The hike itself was 6 miles of easy terrain with some wet footing. Told that the paths were going to be dry I left my hiking boots in the car and wore sneakers. Oooops. As always, afterward we went to lunch. Dinner last night was baked salmon filets with a siracha lime rub and the side was roasted cauliflower. Have a great day!

Me, wifey, and dear dog took a two mile walk yesterday morning and that was the extent of my exercise for the day. We spent the balance of Sunday at a family Easter party. I made good choices with respect to the what and quantity of the food that I ate and drank, only seltzer for the latter, but with the high sodium content of a lot of the offerings I’m up over three pounds as the scale tipped at 187.8. There will be an emphasis on hydration today.
For the past two weeks my trainer has had some personal things going on, all good, that necessitated a change in his client schedule and since I had the flexibility (calendar wise, not necessarily physically LOL!), I was able to accommodate him, which is why I once again saw him on a Monday. Next week we should be back to our normal Tuesday/Friday beatdowns. Today’s workout consisted of three rounds of:
Standing Bb shoulder presses Standing Db lateral raises Walkouts with a push up Standing Db front raises Standing Db shrugs Db goblet squats Bb Romanian deadlifts Sled
In non fitness news, I found the MIA book. For some completely inexplicable reason it was in a file with my insurance information and found it when I went to get my homeowner’s policy number so that I could pay my annual bill.
Have a great day!

Nice job finding the book. Even better remembering to pay the insurance.

Glad you found the book. My lost movie is still MIA. I checked with the library, the fee for the lost movie is $20.00. I was suprised, thought it would be more. Each library has their own rules. This was checked out from Paramus library. They told me I could not buy a replacement in lieu of the fee. Last year I lost a book checked out from Hillsdale. They told me I could buy a replacment, or pay the fee. I bought a replacment from Amazon.

Nice job finding the book. Even better remembering to pay the insurance. Pure luck on finding the book, but the insurance payment was on my radar. To miss that and have a claim event would be a bummer. UpdateExercise this morning was three sets of grippers and bent over Db rows. Dinner last night was baked cod seasoned with Old Bay and air fryer cabbage and bacon. Have a great day!

This morning I did three sets of thirty crunches and this afternoon took a two mile walk with wifey and dear dog.
Dinner last night was a sweet and spicy shrimp dish served over linguini. There was a garden salad involved as an accompaniment.
In the “Unexpected Simple Pleasures of Life Department”, this morning I went food shopping for our usual stuff as well as getting most of the ingredients for a party we’re hosting on Sunday. My main protein entrée plan going to be flank steak and surprisingly the market had a sale for it, saving me four dollars a pound. Yeah!!!
Have a great day!

Exercise today was a two mile walk, push ups (20,20,15), and stretching.
Dinner last night was roasted chicken with black beans served over rice.
This morning’s earthquake has been the discussion topic of the day. I had to do a quick market run afterward and complete strangers came up to me to talk about it. Fortunately, there doesn’t seem to be much damage and we’ve spoken to my SIL, who lives a couple of miles from the 4.8 epicenter, and all is well with her and her family though there were some nervous moments. Maybe coincidentally, but starting in the wee hours last night dear dog was acting strangely. Specifically, she was clearly nervous about something and clingy. Wifey and I had no idea why and attributed it to the recent rain and wind we’ve had, but after this morning’s event I suspect she was attuned to what was going to happen hours before her humans.
Good thing my I paid my homeowner’s insurance last week.
TGIF!
