I just got word that my gym is closed....maybe. Although very well equipped it's quite small and I don't believe I've ever seen more than eight people there at once. The owner is currently trying to get clarification about what legally constitutes a gym and if a facility of his size is impacted. My trainer has offered to give one on one sessions at clients' homes, via video conferencing, or having people come and utilize his home gym. Assuming my "studio" doesn't open wifey and I are going to opt to go to our trainer's house. The next question is how will the prohibition affect our weekend garage workouts. It literally is in a large garage in the same building. Along with cars, there's enough varied equipment for twenty or so people to workout. Rhetorical: does that make it a gym? Strange times for everyone.
Fortunately for us we still have positive cash flow, but others, such as our trainer, is in a different situation and wifey and I will do what we can to continue paying for his services, and even some that we may not receive, to ensure that he and his family are okay.
Wifey went to a local Irish pub to bring back corned beef sandwiches so we'll be having a late lunch so dinner may be pushed back a bit.

After a quick trip to the supermarket, which went quite well, I did some planks and squats. Next on the agenda are some wall sits and dips and possibly some pushups this afternoon.
No cooking last night; we were all stuffed from the corned beef sandwiches so all I did was cut up a salad.
Have a great day!

Exercise at home:
High plank: 2 minutes 75 squats 2 60 second wall sits 50 dips 2 60 second leg holds 6" inches off the floor
Despite my, wifey's, and dear son's protests dear sister went home today. Her point was she needed to give it a try, which I can understand and she knows that she's welcome back here if being by herself is more difficult than she anticipated.
Dinner last night was shrimp scampi served with linguini and a salad.
Have a great day!

Good to see you finding something to do exercise wise without a gym.
While you may have wished for your sister to stay longer, it does mean she is recovering which is a good thing.

Good to see you finding something to do exercise wise without a gym. While you may have wished for your sister to stay longer, it does mean she is recovering which is a good thing. Thanks Mac. I'm going to call my sister in a little while to see how her first at home went. She lives about 25 minutes from me so if need be I can get their fairly quickly. More about exercise below. Update
I've already done high planks and squats. Later today I'll go for a walk of at least a few miles. One of the women in my weekend Boot Camp class has offered her home to serve as an exercise space this weekend. Despite knowing that we will not be following the protocol advised by medical professionals wifey and I are going to attend tomorrow. On more than one level it's indefensible, but we're willing to take the chance to keep our sanity and a semblance of routine. Dinner last night was comfort food. A meatloaf I cooked over mesquite on my BGE and French fries I cooked in my air fryer. I used my mandolin to make the fries so for a simple meal I got to use some of my toys. In other cooking with toys news, yesterday I smoked a corned beef that I will steam in the days to come to make pastrami, I dehydrated apples that are ready for consumption, and earlier this morning I started dehydrating bananas. For the record, none of the dehydrating has anything to do with the public health situation, it's only to make some healthy snacks. TGIF!

My 3.5 mile walk is done. Not sure of the pace, but it was faster than a stroll with hills involved.

I used my mandolin to make the friess... Still have all your fingers? Fortunately, yes. :-) I use the food gripper attachment so my hands are never close to the blade, but there was a time.... No more slicing fingers for this guy. Update
Finally dear daughter got word from her company that she no longer has to make house visits. She's an early intervention speech pathologist and although most of her clients cancelled their appointments this week she still had some house calls to make. I'm elated that she will be minimizing her exposure; to the extent that she can she'll be doing virtual sessions, but the reality is that what she does with her young population is very hands on and in addition some do not have computers in the house.

Wifey and I walked six miles this morning and we'll be doing some home exercising this afternoon. Our weekend Boot Camp was cancelled as was our hiking club walk scheduled for tomorrow.
Dinner last night was salmon filets and a romaine lettuce salad.
Have a great day!

Did some squats and leg raises this afternoon.
We recently were notified that the whole state is essentially on lockdown except for essential services. Not a surprise and I'd rather take my pain up front and hopefully save lives than to have the situation spiral out of control. We saw lots of people on our walk today and if the weather is nice wifey and I will go out again tomorrow. Everyone was respectful of maintaining distance so I don't see a health hazard. Along with people in other demographics I'm feeling with folks with young kids, such as M@, as they try to keep the kids occupied, tire them out, engage with them in a meaningful manner, all without them having an understanding of what's happening. We have a wooden swing set in our backyard from the days when my kids were young and wifey and I are thinking of offering it up to a few neighbors who have young kids and don't have a swing set since playgrounds are closed.
Stress levels are higher than normal, but there's no panic in the Seltzer household; we just trying to strategize and make sure we have what we need.

It was bound top happen; yesterday I was informed that an acquaintance passed away due to him contracting the virus. He was 62. I got to know him because he was the drummer for the band wifey and I, along with some neighbors, go to see the last Friday of every month. Very sad.
Today is our wedding anniversary and in a short while I'm going to venture to the market to buy some lobster tails for tonight's dinner. That's it; get in and out as fast as I can. Assuming I survive I'll be cobbling together an exercise plan that will include planks, wall sits, and dips and another walk with wifey.
Have a great day!

Sorry about your friend. I am hoping the lockdown will slow the spread.
If you haven't gone to the store yet, wear gloves (doesn't have to be disposable) and a bandana or something as a mask. If the gloves are not disposable, wipe them down with a sanitizer after wearing. The bandana or mask won't really stop the virus but it will keep you from touching your face. Remove them before you open your car door.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY.

My condolences for the passing of your friend. Did your friend have underlying health issues? Pretty scary either way.
Happy Anniversary.
