It was a struggle, but I completed four rounds of Boot Camp this morning.
Burpees with a Db snatch Stationary bicycle Bosu ball knee thrusts and pushups Decline sit ups Heavy ropes Hanging knee tucks Rower Ab wheel rollouts
My breathing was not very good, but I did the best I could and I’m glad I went. Hopefully I’ve turned the corner.
This afternoon cousin from Seattle and sister came over and we went to lunch. It was sort of last minute-ish and I offered to cook here, but they insisted on going out. I can live with that. We wound up having a delicious Greek meal.
Dinner last night was tacos with refried beans, a suggestion by wifey.
Have a great day!

It probably is a combination of your cold and allergies. My nose is running constantly, there is so much pollen in the air.

It probably is a combination of your cold and allergies. My nose is running constantly, there is so much pollen in the air. Sorry that you're feeling those symptoms and I agree you're right about the combination. UpdateAll of you who know me and wifey know we’re a regular suburban couple doing regular suburban things, but that may be changing. Last week I received a FB friend request from Sandra Bullock and a few days ago wifey replied to a request for extras for a movie Spike Lee is filming in town and she has an interview in about an hour. Between my new found friendship with Sandy (as her friends call her) and Wifey’s highly anticipated ascendency from an extra to a prominent role in the film it’s likely you’ll be seeing us in paparazzi pictures in the near future. Okay, the “Bullock” request did happen, but it’s obviously not from her so I declined, but the thing with wifey is real. Doesn’t mean she’s going to get chosen, but if she is it could be fun. Also, I have no idea what Sandra Bullock’s friends call her. Exercise today was a three mile walk and that will be followed by another walk with dear dog. Trainer Tuesday tomorrow. Have a great day!

The Seltzer family’s brief thoughts of cinematic stardom and socializing in such circles have been dashed. Clearly, Sandra Bullock’s friend request really wasn’t from her and wifey’s “audition” to be an extra in a Spike Lee film, while not a total scam, was not what it was purported to be. The film is a real thing, but the ad was from a talent agency looking to sign talent and using the film as a lure. It took wifey about two minutes to figure that out, but stayed on the group call for about five minutes which was long enough to hear about a sign up fee and head shots by the company’s approved photographer for an additional fee. Oh well, at least we got a good chuckle out of it and to be fair I have no idea if Spike Lee or his organization has any knowledge of this.
I was at my trainer this morning and had the best workout in over a week. I did three rounds of:
Up downs Supermans Leg raises Trap bar deadlifts Bb bench presses Hammer curls Bb skull crushers Db goblet squats Bench dips
Dinner last night was crab cakes with a side salad.
Have a great day!

I was looking forward to you both being the next Kramer "these pretzels are making me thirsty". Thanks guys. I guess we will all have to wait until we get our next "big break". At least there wasn't a casting couch audition involved. UpdateThis afternoon me, wifey, and dear dog took a ninety minute walk in the woods by our house. In that entire time we saw only two people; very serene and beautiful Dinner tonight was shrimp in a lemon sauce, think of it as a creamy version of a pasta limone sauce, served over linguini with a side salad.

Exercise today was a three mile walk with dear dog and wifey and Db shoulder shrugs.
Dinner was an old favorite during hot weather when the kids were young, cold tuna salad and pasta.
Have a great day!

Exercise this morning was grippers and there's going to be a walk this afternoon.
We're hosting a Mother's Day party and today I bought about 95% of the food I need. Some cooking will take place on Saturday, but the bulk will be done on Sunday. This is one of the family parties we routinely host, but did not do last year because we were in Italy. There's going to be about 25 people and fortunately the weather forecast is for decent weather so folks can hang outside if they want. Unfortunately my MIL, the matriarch of the family, will not be joining us as she feels it would be too long of a day for her.
Have a great day!

Friday fun was three rounds of:
Low planks Abductors Supermans Db goblet squats Standing Bb presses Trap bar deadlifts Standing Db lateral raises Ab wheel rollouts Unanchored weighted sit ups
I still have some minor allergy/cold symptoms, but had a solid workout. The biggest difference compared to being totally healthy isn't strength per se, but muscle stamina as I'm quite gassed afterward and my recovery is longer. I know it's only minor and temporary, but it'll be nice when it's in the rear view mirror.
Dinner last night was boneless chicken thighs with scallions and ginger. There was also a spring mix salad served.
TGIF!

After recovering from this morning's workout I spent a few hours prepping for tomorrow's Mother's Day party and am presently where I need to be. I think the headcount is now 24. Unfortunately, the forecast is becoming less favorable, but we'll make it work.
Dear son came here a short while ago and in a couple of hours he's graciously allowing us to take him to dinner. :-)

I was hoping to make it to Boot Camp this morning, but a review of all my tasks made me realize that wasn't going to happen. All prep work and set up is complete and our guests will arrive in about half an hour.
Happy Mother's Day!

Yesterday was a lot of fun. We didn’t see our pillows until almost midnight after a full day of cooking, hosting, and cleaning so we’re a little tired today, but the effort was well worth. As always, I cooked too much food because aside from screwing something up nothing would be worse than not having enough, so even after sending guests home with doggie bags wifey and I have enough food for a couple of meals. Yay!
Although based on a small sample size, one of the takeaways from yesterday’s party is that people aren’t fans of green peppers. Wifey and I like them and as a “let’s see what happens” experiment I included said peppers in the crudité mix and virtually none were eaten. To be honest, it went as we thought it would.
Earlier today I walked 1.5 miles round trip to meet a friend for breakfast and later this morning I’ll do three sets of pushups.
I have a book club meeting on Thursday, still have about 150 pages to read and since I’m next up in the rotation I have to decide on what our next book will be. It may be close, but all will be done before the meeting.
Have a great day!

I am with your guests. Not a fan of green peppers. When you can eat red, yellow and orange peppers, I think, why buy the green peppers. Though probably if I was a blindfolded, they all probably taste the same.
