Four rounds this morning of:
Glute bridges Heavy ropes Db swings Db jabs Rower Goblet squats Walk outs with a push up
We're leaving in about 30 minutes to meet some friends in a quaint little town about an hour away from here and we'll likely eat dinner around there. Dinner last night was mussels in a wine and cream sauce with sides of a baguette for dipping and a salad.
Have a great day!

I took a 1.5 mile round trip walk to meet a friend for breakfast this morning and after lunch I'm going to do renegade rows.
My right ankle is sore, as if I slammed into something. There's no black and blue marks and while the swelling has gone down today, starting in the latter part of the afternoon yesterday it started swelling up around the ankle bone. It's not going to stop me from doing anything, but it's odd.
As anticipated there was no cooking for me last night. I'll be back in the kitchen tonight and may take the easy route of reheating leftovers.
Have a great day!

Controlled chaos is the theme of the day. Almost every room in the house is in disaray with very little being where it “should” be. We have two contractors in the house, three PSE&G trucks and a police car in front of the house, and earlier today we had a couch delivered. More accurately, it was attempted to be delivered, but it didn't fit through the front door and while trying the delivery people damaged the fabric.
More functional exercise last night getting the dining room ready to be worked on and this morning I did three rounds with my trainer of:
High planks Goblet squats Flat bench Bb presses Single arm Db bench rows Bench dips TRX table top rows Ab wheel rollouts Mountain climbers
Dinner last night was the leftover portion of the chicken cacciatore-esque dish I made last week and the side was a garden salad.
Have a great day!

Have a great day! That is a lot going on. Do you know why the PSE&G trucks and cop are there? I presume your renovations do not require a new substation so it wouldn't be related. We've decided to increase the size of our house to about 45,000 square feet so we're getting our own personal substation. :-) Not! A few weeks ago a gas leak was reported and that's when they tore up a portion of my lawn and the street in front of my house to repair it. It appears they are doing the same thing in front of my neighbor's house. Non Fitness UpdateNow that dear daughter is engaged and wants to get married in NJ wifey and I will be doing preliminary due diligence and last week we found a wedding expo with about 100 vendors about 30 minutes from us that according to the website started yesterday and ran through tomorrow. Our plan was to go tonight, but when I went on the website to get the address I was getting conflicting information about the dates. As it turns out, the expo was for only one day which was yesterday. Better to find that out this afternoon as opposed to driving to the venue. I guess that means I have to come up with a dinner concept.

Some functional exercise last night putting together one of our bedrooms and there likely will be a repeat tonight with another one. This morning I did 20 pushups, 15 renegade rows, and 15 Db shoulder shrugs.
Dinner last night was a crabmeat casserole with a side salad.
Dear son is coming here tonight and the friend of his that used to come over about once a week for dinner and to sleep over will be joining us. He's fully informed that the house is topsy turvy.
Have a great day!

Too bad about the couch. Are they going to send another and try again, or do you need to get something with smaller measurements?

Too bad about the couch. Are they going to send another and try again, or do you need to get something with smaller measurements? We're going to get something with a smaller dimensions. Our, meaning wifey's, current thinking is to get a trundle bed that opens to a queen size, but when closed has a smaller footprint. It's going to go in dear son's former bedroom which is being repurposed to an office for wifey and a guest bedroom. Dear daughter's former room is already a guest room since she didn't take her queen size bed when she moved. Between those rooms, a pullout queen sofa in the basement, a queen futon in a side room, our living room couch, and a couple of queen air mattresses we're in good shape to accommodate guests. I have no idea when or why we would have that many people sleep over, but we're prepared. Wedding Update StuffWe had plans to go visit a place tonight, but the management called to tell us that their plans changed and they weren't available so we had to reschedule. We're supposed to see another venue tomorrow. Guess who had to come up with a quick dinner plan for the second night in a row? :-)

Congrats to R on her engagement... if you are willing to expand your search to MD, we do great weddings where I work (up to 150 people) with lodging included for up to 30 people)... and of course, you'd get to share the special day with me LOL.
Good luck with the planning (and the home renovations... 45,000 square feet, a new couch, and sleeping arrangements for what seems like a thousand)!
BTW who is paying for all this, or do I already know him?

I'm sure the venue would be great, but it's too far, especially for the folks coming from MA. As for the $$ side of things, you already know the person who is paying for the house stuff and for most of the wedding. UpdateExercise this morning was a two mile walk that included a stop at the bank to deposit a couple of checks. Dinner last night was chicken, which we seem to be eating a lot of recently, that was grilled and a side salad. Dear son and his friend got here about 10 PM and we stayed up for about another hour. Have a great day!

Any concerns about Covid? I read so many stories of people who put deposits down for weddings, only not being able to have the wedding, and not being able to get the deposit back.

Any concerns about Covid? I read so many stories of people who put deposits down for weddings, only not being able to have the wedding, and not being able to get the deposit back. We're not close to making a decision about a venue, but the issue you mentioned is one of my questions for any place we do see and I will make sure that I get the promise of getting my deposit back in writing when we choose a place. Thanks for mentioning this. Clarification
A few days ago when I wrote about the utility work outside and contractors in the house I jokingly wrote that we were expanding our house to 45,000 square feet. Given the size I mentioned I assumed everyone who reads this journal, even if they don't know me IRL, knew it was tongue in cheek. When talking with a friend yesterday I used the same joke and he thought I was serious so I want to make it perfectly clear that we are not expanding the footprint of our home and presently it is not anywhere close to that number, not even ten percent of it. UpdateLast night for the second night in a row wifey and I were stymied and not able to visit a wedding place to get information. Plan B was that one of my nephews came over and we had an early B'day celebration for wifey at a casual restaurant. Our next attempt at seeing a venue is Sunday. Low key exercise day so far; some stretching and gripper work. TGIF!

For the record, I knew it was a joke because 45,000 square feet wouldn't need a substation just a dedicated transformer. Just kidding and showing my engineer geek side.

Whatever the reason I'm glad that at least one person got my attempt at humor. :-) UpdateThree rounds this morning of: Stationary bicycle TRX mid rows Rower Wall balls Heavy ropes Land mines Treadmill Single leg bench squats Dinner last night was bagels and home made lox. Even 10% of 45K would be considered a McMansion. Just kidding, I know you said less than 10%. I know you don't live in a McMansion. I looked it up, the largest home in NJ is 24,000 square feet in Englewood.
