Wifey and I did about sixty minutes of functional exercise last night prepping dear son's room for the contractor to do some work this morning. Tonight we'll do the same in dear daughter's room. This morning I did three rounds with my trainer of:
Low planks Weighted glute bridges Land mines TRX table top rows Close grip push ups Single arm Db bench rows Leg raises
For our first empty nester dinner I made a non dear son approved meal of chicken curry, rice, and a salad.
Have a great day!

Exercise so far has been my every other week 1.5 mile round trip walk to meet a friend for breakfast. After that we visited my MIL to help her with some things. For once, no doctor visits this week. Later this afternoon I'm going to squeeze in renegade rows.
As will be the case for days to come, wifey and I did some more functional workout out stuff yesterday, this time prepping dear daughter's room for the contractor.
No cooking last night because we took a friend out for her birthday. I'll be back at it tonight.
Have a great day!

Yesterday afternoon I did three rounds of ten renegade rows that I previously mentioned. After dinner wifey and I spent about an hour finishing the prep of dear daughter's room for the contractor. Nothing terribly heavy; although we had to move some furniture around it was mainly a constant motion exercise.
Dinner last night was meatloaf with a side of jalapeno mashed potatoes using spuds that wifey grew. No cooking tonight because we will be attending the wake for the mother of a very good friend.
Have a great day!

Another hour of a functional workout last night after we got home from the wake prepping for our contractor. Today's exercise has been a three mile walk; I see pushups in my future.
TGIF!

Exercise has been a two mile walk and gripper stuff.
Dinner last night was a top round steak that I put in a sous vide bath to soften and then seasoned and pan seared it. The side was a garden salad.
Have a great day!

Three rounds this morning of:
Treadmill Db single arm snatches Stationary bicycle TRX mid rows Mountain climbers on sliders Ball slams Rower Wall balls Db squat presses
I doubt it counts as exercise, but my hiking club is going on a food and beverage hike this afternoon. Four different restaurants over the course of three hours,
I cooked three racks of St. Louis cut ribs yesterday, but didn't eat any since we were going to an outdoor jazz festival in town. While there we met some folks we knew and one of them had two extra tickets to a concert at small local venue so that's where we spent the latter part of the evening. Spontaneous and fun.
Have a great day!

The food and beverage hike sounds fun. So does the Jazz fest and concert.

The food and beverage hike sounds fun. So does the Jazz fest and concert. The Jazz Fest was a lot of fun and unexpectedly going to the concert capped off a fine Saturday. The venue was built in 1922 and has been both a movie and performance theatre during its almost century of existence. Depending upon who the management company is it attracts some big names and with a seating capacity of about 1800 there's not a bad seat. We live about fifteen minutes away so we can eat dinner at home or go to a local restaurant, pay nothing for parking or tolls, and be home shortly after the show ends. The food tour exceeded my expectations by a large margin and I would definitely do one again. A very fun way to spend a few hours in the afternoon with friends. One of my concerns was that the food portions would be skimpy, but it was the exact opposite. At the first three restaurants we didn't finish all the food and at the third everyone took home a doggie bag of fresh pasta and rice balls. Our fourth and last stop was a third generation ice cream place; there were no leftovers there. :-) UpdateAfter working out yesterday and going on the food tour we then went to a friend's house to celebrate her birthday. We got there about 7:30 and I anticipated us staying for about an hour since the party started at 3:30 and it was a Sunday. Wrong! We didn't leave until 11:30 and once we got home dear dog, who had many hours of sleep, felt it was play time. Needless to say the morning came way too soon. Exercise so far has been three sets of gripper work to failure and I'm going to do thirty pushups later this morning. Have a great day!

I want to know why you are not 300+ pounds. I think it's a combination of eating healthy and usually decent portion control. It can't be from all the running I'm not doing.

Three rounds this morning of:
High planks Weighted glute bridges Supermans Hip abductors Goblet squats Flat bench Bb presses TRX table top rows
No cooking last night because we took my MIL to a doctor's appointment and had an early dinner with her. This will likely be repeated on Wednesday and Friday.
Have a great day!

We're going to be leaving in about an hour to take my MIL for another doctor appointment. There's going to be a lot of down time for me so my plan is to take advantage of the nice weather and walk a few miles. In addition I'll be bringing my grippers.
Dinner last night was St. Louis ribs, mashed potatoes, and a garden salad.
Have a great day!

I walked 2.5 miles this morning which was broken up with doing some quick errands. Push ups will be done this afternoon.
Our contractor is doing a great job, but the house is topsy turvy and will only get worse once he and his nephew finishes the second floor and start on the kitchen and dining room. In the end it will be worth it, but we're going to have to get creative with cooking and eating once the first floor work begins.
As expected we went to an early dinner with my MIL yesterday so no cooking for me. In other food news this morning I've portioned the ribs I made a few days ago into meals for me and wifey and froze them, I'm about half way through making a batch of lox, and I'm currently smoking cheese. I'm not going to jinx myself about tonight's dinner plans because everyone who reads here knows they don't always actually happen.
In family news, dear son is coming here Wednesday night and staying until Sunday to have an early celebration for wifey's birthday. Dear daughter and her fiancé are coming in two weeks to scope out wedding venues. It's getting real.
Have a great day!

We just got back from lunch with my MIL after taking her to another doctor's appointment. Exercise so far has been a 1.5 mile walk while I waited for wifey and her mom and I'll do something supplemental this afternoon.
Dinner last night was chicken cooked in a tomato sauce with sautéed onions, garlic, and mushrooms. We had a garden salad as the side.
TGIF!
