Location wise both gyms are a similar distance from my work place and from home. The gym I was previously attending is slightly closer.
I've realised that I don't particularly like people near me when I'm working out and don't like waiting for equipment to be available.
I'll decide by the end of the weekend and start wherever I choose on Monday.
Before then my partner is out for a work colleages leaving meal tomorrow night so I plan to get home early and chuck a movie or two on the projector. On Saturday I plan to head into the West End of London. There is a film club that meets there and shows horror/sci-fi/obscure movies. I've missed previous events when I've been busy and missed the last one when I had Covid. I'm interested to check it out. On Sunday, a friend of our will be playing with his new band so we intend to head to the pub where he is performng to watch him and have a few drinks.

Just in case you were thinking of moving, possibly to be closer to the already mentioned gyms or one you may like even better, Freddy Mercury's former house in Kensington is up for sale. The initial listing is about 35 million pounds. You're welcome.

Content warning:
I'll spare most of the gory details.
Last week I was a bit out of sorts with regard to my disgestive system. Thought it would sort itself out naturally but didn't.
Roll on Friday evening and I felt very uncomfortable with severe abdominal pain. I managed to get in the car and drive to the pharmacy to get some medication but when I got home I had such sever abdominal pain that I spent the next five hours curled up on the floor in constant pain.
My partner had gone out for the evening. I was planning a nice night with movies, wine, and a big bag of potato chips. I waited as long as I could before I called her and asked her to come home because I both felt so awful that I'd considered calling an ambulance and because I was getting rather cold on the floor and didn't want to move even to turn on the heating or get a blanket.
After those five house I had some relief after being violently sick all and managed to get into bed for a couple of hours. The medication then worked as intended and after some further unpleasantries I got to bed.
I'd weighed myself on Friday morning and found that I weighed a full 7 pounds less on Saturday morning which perhaps explains the extreme level of discomfort I'd felt.
I have no idea what threw things out of balance last week. I'd been eating better than I had for a long while and got more exercise.
Feeling back to normal now.
Additional note:
When we we away in Morocco we missed our monthly quiz night. Our Team came last that week, albeit only three points behind the winner. Happy to bump up to 2nd place out of 8 teams tonight and just two points off the winner.

A more pleasant post today.
Today is the start of of a four day weekend. What happens in the States over Easter in terms of public holidays?
Looks like my workplace has a corporate deal with the gym I did the one-day trail with to get a 7-day free trial. Will try to sign up to this is the system will let me have another free trial. Will give me a chance to tray the gym on different days and times and give the other venue that I can access a try.
Will be having a fairly lazy day today. My partner is going to pop into town to go clothes shopping. I've just had a new phone delivered which I'll be setting up and messing around with.
The camera on this new phone should be far better than my old phone which should be good for holiday/travelling snaps and this new phone can accept an e-sim which will be handy when travelling abroad. When I went to Japan in 2019 I got a physical sim card and set it up when I was there but getting an e-sim purchased before i go away will be handy for those destinations where I cannot just use my existing mobile contract. Wi-Fi can be handy where you can pick it up but it can be super useful to use Google Maps, book tickets for attractions etc when out and about.

It's not a federal holiday, but many places are closed today, including most of the financial markets.

I didn't know you needed a special SIM card for picking up Wi-Fi in different countries.
Do use an Android or Apple phone, or are there additional types available?

Not to pick up the WIFI but to get a mobile signal without roaming and incuring high charges. I've got a Samsung Android phone currently and the new one is also a Samsung Android phone. I think the only two choices are IOS from Apple or Google Android.

The Easter weekend has been successful if expensive.
Having bought my new phone I needed to copy any photos or video stored on my old phone. Spend a good bit of time copying the files from my phone to my PC. Did a lot of deleting of photos I didn't want and organised what was transferred into folders. While I was doing a disgital tidy I also did a tidy-up of files, downloads, emails and messages.
Decided to deal with some of the minor inconveniences/annoyances in my house too:
I had a keyboard which had keys that were difficult to see in the dark if, for example I was watching video or playing PC games in the dark, so I bought a new backlit keyboard.
Plugging in and unplugging some of my tech items from the mains was a pain so bought a couple of new 8-gang extension leads so I'm not scrabbling around under the desk or TV unit in future.
I bought some wireless headphone for TV watching a few months ago. As they are radio frequency headphones they suffer somewhat from interference. They suffer with background hiss just load enough to be annoying so I bought a new pair of bluetooth headphones with a docking station which is both a charger and a transmitter. Now getting interference free sound. At the same time I added a bluetooth transmitter to my PC so that I can use those same headphones with my PC.
Part of my gym plan going forward is lots of treadmill time accompanied by some catching up on documenatries I want to watch. I'd done some of that at my mother's house awhile back as she has a treadmill and an old tablet I could use, but I'd always end up there for ages as she got me to do this or that or regailed me with the same things she told me the last time that we talked. To this end I've ordered a tablet for myself which I should pick up Wednesday. This will be loaded with plenty of content to watch at the gym.
On Saturday night we popped to the local pub, something we used to do regularly but haven't done since Covid. I resisted the bigger portions of food on the menu but did indulge in a few drinks especially as the prices on the app for ordering seems somewhat discounted from the menu prices.
My partner's daughter and mother visited on Sunday. Her daughter brought her new dog with her and they went of for a walk in the country park and then spend some time in the garden. The dog, a greyhound, gets excited at the site of other animals so we kept our cats inside to avoid issues.
Today (Monday) I got into the garden and did a good bit of weeding and mowing. Got some lawn edging and pruning to do too but was good to make a start.
We've also booked a couple of trips abroad. A short trip to the French Riviera at the end of this month for my partner's birthday and a trip to Romania in June for my birthday. W've also been doing some research for a potential trip to Thailand in November.

Picked up the tablet from the store this evening. Just setting it up so haven't actually done anything with it yet but dislay is a decent 11" size so should be decent for watching stuff whilst on a treadmill or exercise bike.
Realised that I can probably download content from Netflix and other streaming sites so should be able to have a good binge of some stuff while getting some exercise at the same time.

That is a good idea. The gym I go to has little tv screens on the cardio equipment. Half or more don't work, and even if they did, with the advent of wireless earbuds, you can't get sound from them on the earbuds.

What did you ever decide about which gym to join/use?

What did you ever decide about which gym to join/use? Funny you should ask. On Friday I completed a web form for a 7-day guest pass at the sister site of the nicer gym that I tried. It was an offer through my employers rewards scheme. My sister said she'd used the site previously and it was her preferred location. I got a call from the 'Leisure Centre'today because they'd received a notification that I'd enquired about membership but had no knowledge of the guest pass offer. I've emailed the rewards scheme to notify that there was an issue and asked for it to be resolved. I'll see what they come back with. Although I would have liked to have gone to the gym at the weekend I intead did a lot of garden/yard work. I was exhausted on both Saturday and Sunday evenings. Tonight, my partner and I popped to the local pub for dinner, a drink and a quiz. We hadn't been there together for over 4 years and we've been twice in 10-days. A bit of a change for a Monday night.

How did you fare with the quiz? I assume it was a trivia game.

How did you fare with the quiz? I assume it was a trivia game. Just a general knowledge quiz. 3rd out of five tables. Not too bad as there were only two of us and most tables had a few more participants than that. Scored 31 out of 40. Let down by not knowing the name of Nemo's father in Finding Nemo, the location of the 2014 Commonwealth games and the number of moons of Saturn to name a few. A 10 minute break at the halfway point where half completed answer sheet were left with the teams left things a little open to cheating I thoughtnot that I am aware of any such behaviour.
