Give the new gym a week or two and the resolutioners will be gone and it will be less crowded.
Wishing your Mom a speedy recovery.

No real fitness news to post other than I have been trying to get in a routine of regularly taking walks.
I've got a subscriptionm to a service that posts out movies on discs to my home (as Netflix once did) and am taking part in a survey for the postal service in the UK. This means I regularly need to post items. The postbox that has an evening collection is on the high-street so I've been making sure to walk to that postbox 3-4 times per week and do a loop that passes my (other) house to check in collect post/mail. Probably about 40 minutes or so walking at a moderate pace.
My plan to try out another gym and get back to Scuba diving got thrown off by getting another cold. Not good for the gym and definitely no good for Scuba diving as it can pervent you from equalising your ears against the water pressure at depth.
Forced myself to stay up until 3am last night watching movies to get my sleep pattern more in sync for staying up potentially until 4am for the Superbowl tonight.
I've seen today that the NFL is planning to play a game in Madrid in 2025 so Madrid may end up on my holiday list for 2025 if I can get tickets. I've visited Spanish islands but never mainland Spain.

Even though you haven't updated in a while, I was expecting an update from you due to today being the Super Bowl.

Even though you haven't updated in a while, I was expecting an update from you due to today being the Super Bowl. I think I tend to post around Superbowl time. As a 49ers fan I'm disappointed at the result. I watched the game at my mother's house (she watched it too) and stayed over for the night. I took taoday off work. This afternoon I got an unused bookcase from my house and took it to my mother's house as she needed a bit of extra space for her books. I then washed the car this afternoon. I always feel the need to do that before its annual service which is due in the next few weeks. I intend to replace the cracked and worn gear knob and polish the rather cloudy headlamps.

Another two weeks (I'm sure there was a discussion around the use of the word fortnight in the past) goes by.
Still no fitness news to report. Got stuck in a no-fitness rut.
I did replace the gearknob in my car and polish the headlamps. Makes a massive different to the brightness of the lamps and the car looks so much better.
I got two new front tyres last week. I'm glad I did as I did a moderate length drive yesterday in very heavy rain and the new tyres gaev far better grip than the worn tyres they replaced.
Just one day left at work tomorrow then taking some leave to travel to Morocco for a week. Will stay in a hotel near the airport Wednesday and fly out on Thurday for 7 nights.
Temperatures in the high40s/low 50s here in the UK, high 70s/low 80s in Morocco so will feel very nice I expect. Lot's of trips planned but also some chilled out days on the beach I expect.
Should have visited Morocco in 2020 before the Pandemic messed with plans.

Returned from Agadir, Morrocco yesterday.
Had a very nice trip. The weather was sunny and warm all week. Hot enough that laying by the pool or on the beach was very pleasant but not so hot that moving around or going out on trips made you hot and sweaty.
Stayed in a hotel with nice gardens and a nice pool which heated up well in the sun as it was quite shallow. Unfortunately, the hotel played music at just too high a volume for me to be able to relax and read but the beach was literally a two minute walk from the pool so we spent time there until 5pm when the music stopped and came back to the pool for more chill-out time and swimming.
Despite the majority of Morocco lying West of the vast majority of the UK (as well as being far furter South obviously), Morocco is 1 hour ahead of the UK which made for late sunrises but also a much later sunset. So nice to have almost two more hours of daylight in the evening.
We went on a day trip to Marrakech which is (certainly in the old-town) absolutely manic. So very busy. Cars, bicycles, scooter wizzing around, car horns blaring. We were originally due to stay there for three nights in 2020 but am glad we didn't do so. wouldn't have minded a night there with more time to look around but a bit too hectic. My partner absolutely hates snakes so was very unhappy when our tour went through the main square and past the snake-charmers.
We also took another tour to a small walled city known as Taroudant and to a village call Tiout. That was a calmer day out with a few stops along the way to see goats feeding in trees, an orange grove, an oasis etc. A very nice day out.
Food in Morocco was very good an we were surprised by the quality of the wine having never come across Moroccan wine before. We paid more for food by mostly eating close to the beach area but eating out was still relatively cheap and when we ventured into town the prices were very low.
Definitely another successful trip.
Unfortunately, I have a lot of excess weight to shift especially as my brain converts the words 'Buffet-breakfast' into 'eat-as-much-as-possible breakfast'

Sounds like a nice trip. Morocco is one of the places I would like to visit.

Not the biggest fitness news but I needed to pop to my house today and I made myself walk rather than jump in the car.

Got to the gym today.
Got a one-day pass for the second closest gym to my workplace. The advantageof signing up to this gym would be use of the pool and the opportunity to use another leisure centre nearby which is part of the same chain.
It's a very nice gym. The equipment is much newer and more high-tech than the other gyms I've tried out. You can watch youtube on the treadmill/crosstrainer screens as well as some other apps such as Spotify. There is air-conditioning which my regular gym doesn't have.
But,
It is a lot smaller and busier and whilst the equipment isn't crammed tightly together like the gym I most recently tried out it just feel so much more restrictive.
I feel lie I might end-up back at my old gym despite the terrible heat in there in the summer.
Aim was just to check out the place but hopped on the treadmill for 40 minutes at a fast walking pace and completed some light squats, shoulder press and neutral grip lat pulldowns.

I wouldn't put so much weight (no pun intended) on the layout of the gym and the crowd flow. The benefits you listed far outweigh the drawbacks. Since you are coming into the summer, the AC will certainly be a plus for the next six months, you will have access to both a pool (can't hurt with your diving pursuits, even for just being able to spend time in the water) and another "leisure centre" (which is about as British as you can say it LOL). The fact that you stayed long enough to do 40 minutes on the treadmill and did a few lifts says a lot. My advices... do it.

Sounds as if the advantages of the place you "auditioned" outweigh the downsides you mentioned.

Something to consider is which one is more convenient location. As they say in real estate location, location, location. Some of the disadvantages won't seem as important if it is convenient but may be emphasized if it is less convenient. Just something to consider.
