Glad to hear from you and happy that everything is ok and you are getting time with (extended) family. I know I enjoy reading the things you share from outside the fitness realm. Keep on.

Happy Thanksgiving
I'm at my mother's house this evening. My partner is here as well as my sister and her partner.
Currently watching the Dolly Parton half-time show from the Cowboy's game.
Not sure about her outfit.

The briefest of updates.
Not been following any kind of fitness regime recently. Have been losing weight steadily over the last three or four weeks though. A work colleague and I both realised we weighed almost exactly the same recently, 196lbs. We challenged each other to drop 14lbs. I've only dropped 2-3lbs but she' lost approx 9lbs.
Cleaning up the diet a little has had some effect for me but I need to add actual fitness training of some sort.
Have been spending the majority of my time sorting out gardens, garages, lofts/attics. Also sorting out all the bits of life admin that have been pushed to the back of the pile.
We went out for our Work Team Christmas meal today. Very early obviously. Tonight we're at a quiz. Hoping to come better than the fifth place that we got last time which was something of a disappointment having had a string of first places. There was a new team in town last time that seem to be very good. I'd hope to come better than 5th but winning will be a tall-order if they attend tonight.
Hoping to get to diving on Thursday night as I've not been for a few weeks. Friday I'm at a concert with my partner and on Saturday I'm at a concert on my own.

Keeping busy. Your colleague probably had more water weight to lose than you did as that comes off quickly at first.

The last update was brief, so is this.
Didn't get to diving tonight. Started work early, finished late. I get so many calls, messages, requests for guidance etc during the day that I don't actually get any of my core work done. It's after 8pm, I've only just had dinner and I've got washing/laundry to put away. I intended to vacuum the car today but it's now far too late and too cold.
On a positive note. We won the quiz. By one point.

Start early, finish late. Nope. Pick one. You can’t do both and live YOUR life.

Start early, finish late. Nope. Pick one. You can’t do both and live YOUR life. It doesn't sound great but I am fortunate that my contract allows for Flexi-time. Essentially, any time I work over my contracted hours, I can take off at a later date so my early start and late finish does mean I've got half a day to take off another time. Talking of time off, I'm likely to call in sick tomorrow as I have a rotten 'cold'. I packed in work early today because I wasn't feeling like working anymore. My partner actually suggested taking a Covid Test as we still have some from Covid time that are still in date. Test came up positive.

Bummer about the Covid. Sending good cyber vibes that your symptoms aren't too bad and that your recovery is swift.

Had a few horrible days with the Covid but got better fairly quickly after that. Was back working (fromn home) from the Monday having been off work on the Thurday and Friday. I skipped going into the office on the Thursday and Friday as I was still testing positive for Covid on the Wednesday night. My partner also tested positive on that Wednesday so spent the next week working from home. She didn't have it as badly as I did. I've still got a cough that is hanging around.
Despite staying away from work at least one more person on my team got Covid. She could potentially be quite vulnerable to it so hopefully she will be OK.
Every other person I've talked to on a Team's call this last week has been ill with a cold, or Flu, or Covid seemingly.
Other than that, today was my last day of work before Christmas. I work one Saturday in four and it fell today. Not a bad day though as I usually get loads of calls/messages and interuptions. Today there were none. I stuck on some music and did some work in peace. I'll be working one day next Friday and off again until the following Tuesday.
In the new year I plan to sign-up to a different gym in town to try it out. It's one of those place that's open 24hours which might be quite good to try out.
Happy Christmas/Holidays/New Year.

I can post an update that I've not been able to post for a while.
I've been to the gym.
As I had cancelled my previous gym membership I'm giving another gym a try. Just got a free, three-day pass for the moment.
Differences between the two is that this one has far wider opening hours and is accessible 24/7. However, while the range of resistance equipment is good, they do not have any full power racks/cages. It was also very busy when I was in there between 5:30pm and 6:30pm. The equipment is also far more closely spaced.
I may get myself a memebership for a month and try out some different days/times to see how busy the gym is outside of immediately post-work hours.
Just 40 minutes on the treadmill today. Partly because I thought that would do me for today and also because I had to do some grocey shopping for my mother. She's mananged to get Covid now and is unwell although not terribly so.
ps. Happy New Year.
