Me fast went well. It lasted 15 1/2 hours. I did not feel anything special nor was I very hungry. I'll do 16 hours this week. Do you notice whether or not sleep has any effect on your hunger during a fast? I've had several poor nights sleep recently and was ravenous when I woke up for the day. Last night I got an abundance of sleep and didn't feel hungry until 10:00 am. I slept well that day and did not feel hungry. I did not fast after bad night of sleep yet. I usually have low appetite with bad sleep.

I need to establish some kind of routine of updating my journal. I envy those posters who find something interesting to post about in their everyday lives. I really liked to read mastover's journal with his inspirational stories. Compared to that, my life is pretty boring. Still, I think I just did not find my niche yet, like Seltzer with his culinary magic Also, it might be the case that I struggle because English is not my mother tongue and it takes time to formulate sentences in my head. I shall try to find something interesting to post about daily. If not, I shall just write a post about my thoughts on things. Let today be day 1 of coherent interesting posts!

Also, it might be the case that I struggle because English is not my mother tongue and it takes time to formulate sentences in my head. As a matter of interest, what is your first language? I try to have a routine of posting my workouts even if there is nothing else of interest to post.

I struggle because English is not my mother tongue and it takes time to formulate sentences in my head. I would never have guessed that. Interesting, indeed! I'm also interested to know what your native language is and do you speak any others besides English. Plus how did you learn English?

Thanks for the compliment, but I doubt my world is more interesting than most people here, I just write more about it.
Your English is far better than any other language I can speak. Post away, even if it's limited to your workouts. This is a fitness site.

Your English is probably better than mine. I was raised in rural Louisiana where the education system aint that good. I saw your post in Graham's journal about dumbbells. I have started this routine. I have added some core work and calf work but kept the main part of the routine. If DOMS are any indication, it is working. www.builtlean.com/2016/11/21/dumbbell-workout-build-muscle/

I'm with you on the contents of posts. While I like reading about other members' exercise routines I really enjoy the human aspect of posts when folks write about their day to day. Because of my bias I try to throw a little of that into each of my posts no matter how mundane it is.

Thank you for your kind compliments on my English, guys. I studied it in university as part of my software engineering degree. My first language is Russian and I also want to learn Japanese. I don't know any other languages except for Ukrainian which is kind of like a Russian dialect and a few words in German and French (thanks, Rammstein and Mylene Farmer!) macdiver , thank you for routine recommendation. I'll definitely try it. As for posting only workouts when there is nothing else to post, I find that reading such posts is not as interesting as reading a post with thoughts on things. Maybe it's just me. I also agree about finding posts with more that just workouts more interesting. On days that I have more time, I try to add whats going on in my life or something extra. I days that I am busy enough I will only post my workout. I find that by being in the habit of posting daily, I am more likely to work out but also more likely to take a few minutes to either add something more to my posts or to take time to post on other peoples threads.

...and a few words in German and French (thanks, Rammstein and Mylene Farmer!) On the subject of Rammstein, Till Lindemann has spent some time in intensive care; www.loudersound.com/news/rammsteins-till-lindemann-admitted-to-hospital-tests-negative-for-coronavirus . There were some reports that he had Coronavirus but that has been confirmed not to be the case. I'm waiting to see if their tour goes ahead. I've got tickets for the show in Coventry, England in June. I saw them at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin last year.

I was so relieved that Till is OK. I've been to Rammstein show last summer and his own solo show not long ago. Amazing show man, he is. Hope they won't cancel their June shows! I am currently working from home. To keep myself in shape I have dumbbells and a pull up bar. I tried the routine that macdiver posted and it kicked my ass! Not much variety in food, as you can imagine. Still, I try not to overeat, but shall probably pick up 4-5 kilograms until gyms open. Fingers crossed, this situation will resolve itself within a month, before I start climbing walls!

I seem to have settled with the exercises I can do at home: pull ups; muscle ups; push ups; couch triceps dips; db bicep curls; db shoulder press; db stiff legs deadlift; db split squat; db goblet squat; standing db flys; stretching. This gives all my muscles plenty of work. I can't find my rubber band to add more exercises. Oh well. I also found great hip hop workout playlists on Youtube to keep me pumped

Дякую Anyway... This pandemic thing and getting stuck in four walls has really made me think of my life and choices I made until now. I need to push the envelope. Do the things that need to be done. As usual, such thoughts come to me at a time when doing something is difficult. But I put it in writing this time so that I can come back here later and read it over again. On the fitness side of things, I seem to have picked up a good pace with my push ups challenge and my DBs are not collecting dust. So far so good.

The situation with the virus takes a toll on my family relationships. Not being able to do the things we usually do leads to arguments and frustrations. I can only help this by being honest and not letting emotions take a hold of me. Hopefully, by the end of April things will start going back to normal. I am really toxically co-dependent with my mother. Its like Grey Gardens all over again. I know, at my age you are expected not to be like me, but I am what I am and I can only play with the cards I am dealt and try to move forward and unfuck my life.
</vent>
Anyway...
I have found my fitness rubber band and can do more exercises as a result. I am really happy about that.
I decided to try something different today and did a "2-minute push up". It is basically a push up where you lower yourself for 1 minute and then go up for another minute. After I finished, my whole body was shaking! It is really cool to try new exercises to spice up your routine.
