I know Tesla doesn't participate in any auto shows. The other two I don't know. Audi has a small area. GM, Ford, Toyota, Hyundai have big spaces. I think the important auto shows are Frankfurt, Shanghai, Detroit and Tokyo. I am sure BMW and Mercedes have big exhibits at the Frankfurt show. Yesterday's steps: 30133; w-t-d: 27412; m-t-d: 26289; y-t-d: 23060 Gym (yesterday): 104 treadmill (45 running; balance walking); 26 sauna Thurs - 04/04. I woke up feeling I needed a rest day today, but I woke early, and felt I wasn't going to go back to sleep, so I went to the gym. I had a good workout, and I have 9K steps now, so I am glad I went. I am talking to a guy in the sauna, he is from the area, but moved to near Dallas for work, and is back visiting his parents. He asked me how many minutes I stay in the sauna, I say 26. I realized right after I said that, I should have said 25. He said why 26? I said I am obsessive. He said he does 15, but 30 on the weekends. It was pouring last night when I got off the bus. It was raining when I left for the gym this morning, but is clear now. I need a break from the rain. No spots in the park & ride today, so I parked at the hotel parking lot. But when I was walking past the other lot, there were open spots (I hate when that happens). You can't see if the lot is full, unless you drive there. But it is a pain to drive to the other lot, you sort of have to circle around the parkway exit from going north to going south, and it is annoying after you do this, only to find out there are no spots there either. vegan: m-t-d: ; y-t-d: 24 vegetarian: m-t-d: ; y-t-d: 15 pescatarian: m-t-d: 2 ; y-t-d: 24 other: m-t-d: 1; y-t-d: 31 total days: m-t-d: 3; y-t-d: 94 Morning blood pressure: today: 118 / 59 HR 51 Streaks: 1. Sorry about the ticket.
My understanding about headlights is that the new LED lights are both brighter (high foot candles) and more white which makes them appear even brighter than previous lights. The DOT is considering adding regulations because it does "blind" oncoming drivers making roads less safe.

25, 26.....We have the same mindset and I would have given the exact number also. IOW, you are not alone. :-)

They should. Thanks for the link. Yesterday's steps: 23196; w-t-d: 26709; m-t-d: 26289; y-t-d: 23060 Gym (yesterday): 104 treadmill (45 running; balance walking); 26 sauna Friday - 04/05. Yesterday after my bus commute, I am driving home, and the news channel is on the radio. There is a story that the day before, at an LA Fitness in Staten Island, at 5:00 am, someone goes into the sauna, there is a lifeless body in it. The man who died was 70. Apparently he was in it last night, and no staff did a check to see if anyone was in the sauna before they closed. You would think that would be a standard procedure, if for no other reason, just to make sure you are not locking anyone in the facility when they close. You wonder if somebody did check, maybe he was ill at that time, and if he was removed from the sauna, he wouldn't have died if he had gotten medical attention. Very sad. My blood pressure streak of 6 perfect days came to an end today, blood pressure being 131/64, the prior 6 days it was less than 120. To nobody's surprise, at least not to my surprise, I bailed out on the 4 mile race today. To get to NY by the start time of 8:30 am, I need to be on a 6:30 am bus, since once I get to NY I need to walk to 69th street. I was curious to see how I would do in a race, but not curious enough to go.

We had a total eclipse in the UK in 1999.
I travelled to Devon to see it. I had a friend who lived there that I stayed with. Handy, because the cost of accommodation was rather expensive.
Anyway, it was very cloudy so we didn't see much but we did experience the darkness rolling in, lights coming on and birds going quiet and then the light coming up, lights going off and the birds coming back to life as if it were dawn.

It almost seemed like from a movie yesterday, when I went out the streets were filled with people staring up at the sky with their protective glasses on. I did borrow the glasses from someone in my office, it was pretty cool to look at. Yesterday's steps: 12997; w-t-d: 20573; m-t-d: 23655; y-t-d: 23011 Gym (yesterday): leg training; 20 treadmill (0 running - balance walking); 26 sauna Tues - 4/09. When I was on the bus today, I was reflecting how dressing for work has changed over the years. When I started my career, I wore a suit and tie to work 5 days a week. Then at some point casual Friday's became a thing, and you could wear kakhi's on Friday's. Fast forward to today, not one person on the bus is wearing a suit or sports coat, nobody is wearing a tie. I haven't bought a tie in 20+ years. I would say almost nobody is wearing leather dress shoes to work, most wear sneakers or casual shoes. Some are wearing jeans, some go to work with a shirt that does not even have a collar (t-shirt). I would never wear a shirt without a collar to work, not even on a Friday. I am wearing sneakers today to work. vegan: m-t-d: 3; y-t-d: 27 vegetarian: m-t-d: 2; y-t-d: 17 pescatarian: m-t-d: 2 ; y-t-d: 24 other: m-t-d: 1; y-t-d: 31 total days: m-t-d: 8; y-t-d: 100 Morning blood pressure: today: didn't take yet Streaks: 1. The relaxed workplace dress code has been a movement over the course of our lifetimes, for sure. And beards. I can remember when almost no one (except country folk) had one. Now it's uncommon to see a clean-shaven man. When I see someone come through the store at lunchtime in a suit with leather shoes and a fresh shave, it turns your head, like you are seeing an alien. Then again, being in your environment, it's probably a little more common.

My office has always been casual. When I started we could wear jeans to the office. When we had clients in we would have a dress up day. At that time most clients wore ties so we would have a "major" dress day and have to wear a coat and tie. If the clients didn't wear a tie then we had a "minor" dress up day where coat and ties were optional but it had to be slacks and a dress shirt. As our clients begin to dress more casual so did we. At first it was "casual Fridays" were we could wear shorts on Fridays in the Summer. Now we can wear shorts everyday and our dress up days for clients means no shorts and no holes in your jeans.

True with the beards. Can't be good for companies like Gillette. I see this commerical on tv for Harry's razors. One of the actors lines are "it is expensive to shave everyday". I think when I hear that, virtually nobody shaves everyday anymore. Wearing shorts to work, even in the summer, is a bridge too far for me. Yesterday's steps: 14399; w-t-d: 19030; m-t-d: 22627; y-t-d: 22924 Gym (yesterday): rest day; 26 sauna Weds - 4/10. In Phillydudes terms, on Monday I went off the rails with nutrition. I ate 4 slices of pizza (est 1,700 calories); honey roasted almonds (1,200 calories); tootsie rolls (500 calories); jelly beans (990). As I was walking to work this morning, it occured to me that I forgot to include 3 glazed donuts I ate from Krispy Kreme in my nutrition journal. I ate 3 donuts in less than a minute (570 calories). That is why it is true what they say "you can't exercise your way out of a bad diet". It takes walking roughly 6 miles to burn that off. To continue on the food theme of this update "Happy Whopper Wednesday". Yesterday was back to normal for nutrition. vegan: m-t-d: 3; y-t-d: 27 vegetarian: m-t-d: 2; y-t-d: 17 pescatarian: m-t-d: 3 ; y-t-d: 25 other: m-t-d: 1; y-t-d: 31 total days: m-t-d: 9; y-t-d: 101 Morning blood pressure: today: 115 / 59 HR 61 Streaks: 1. Do you think I am a monster? In addition to what I listed in the last post, I ate a Larabar (230 cal), a Think bar (230 cal) after my morning workout. For when I return from work, I keep 2 bananas in my car (240 cal). I would have skipped them, but I didn't want them to go bad. I did skip the nuts that I also keep in my car for when I return home from work. The idea of keeping food in my car is to eat some food before I get home, so I don't start shoveling food into my mouth when I get home. It does work for me. I also ate a pound of baked potatoes (420 cal) when I got home. Total calories for the day was about 6200-6300. It doesn't show on Monday's nutrition that I listed, most I included, some I haven't included yet. As long as I include everything in the month, I am not concerned if a day or week is over or under in the calories.
