Thanks Paul.
So I had my first "check-in" with my trainer over the past 24 hours... obviously he was pleased with my fat loss. He didn't ask about my cardio and/or weight training, so I didn't offer up my "lack of lifts" (although I will say I did get in three days of running and one day of functional cardio last week).
Every week, I send my BF% (averaged from the previous week) and fat loss in pounds. I also show the change from week to week. Every two weeks, I have to send a front, back, and side picture, edited next to the one from the previous check-in. This was the first time I had two pictures to compare (I took my "before" pics on 4.11 when I actually made the commitment to doing this), although my before pics were from the apartment, and yesterday's were from the house. Moving forward I have figured out where to take them on a consistent basis, so that should make the editing easier.
One thing about the editing of the two pictures together is that by zooming in and comparing angles, you can indeed see the change in my body composition. For example, in my front shot, my stomach actually looks larger because it is hanging over my "posing trunks" (yes, that is what I'm calling them). But from the side, you can see that my stomach is actually flatter than the front shot shows and that it is just that my skin/muscle tone has not rebounded to the quick fat loss.
In non-fitness news: I took full advantage of my three-day weekend, locked the door to the house, and just puttered, all by myself, for 18 hours Friday and Saturday, and 12 hours Sunday. I have gone through almost every box, bag, and bin in the house, and using the three pile system (use, store, discard) I have literally eliminated 2/3 of the clutter in the house. I "reclaimed" the master bedroom, which we had been using as storage for the kitchen cabinets, miscellaneous building supplies and tools (it looked like a mini Home-Depot in there) and all of the aforementioned stored items. I also hung curtain rods and curtains in the living room/den (which is mostly complete, as is the guest bedroom when I am sleeping, and the sitting room/parlor), got my temp kitchen organized, and started surface cleaning... my housekeeper will come in this week and give everything that's ready a deep cleaning )which should hopefully include the bathroom).

Great work on cleaning your house of unnecessary items. I have a bit of a clutter problem and it usually takes me a big effort to throw away and organize things.

Congrats on the progress so far. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
It can't be easy trying to organize and live in a house that is undergoing such major renovations.

Thanks Mark (and TooMuch... don't know your real name LOL).
I haven't posted much about my workouts this week, mainly because I haven't done any (until this morning). I just got back from a walk/run/java ... three miles, 15.05 per mile. This yielded an average 70% of MHR (115 BPM), which is just fine with me for daily cardio. I ran when I felt like it, for short stretches, and then walked briskly for the rest, enjoying nature and a fine cup of coffee along the way. I'm still figuring out the best combination of electronics to use during my cardio, but it seems like the $8.00 wireless headphones I bought on Amazon paired to my iPhone 5 (the one I use to shoot my YouTube videos with) might be the set-up... that way I can record footage during my walking intervals (yes, I am calling this "interval training"... and yes, I am thinking about re-starting my old "Bodybuilding On A Budget" YouTube channel).
It has been eighteen days since I started my program... in that time, I have lost six pounds of fat with no muscle loss. Looking at the data...
4.12.20 - 175 lbs, 41.9 lbs fat, 133.1 lbs lean 4.30.20 - 169 lbs, 35.9 lbs fat, 133.1 lbs lean
In non-fitness news, my day off got switched around this week, so I'm home today. Have an entire sheet of a legal pad filled with projects for the contractor as well as my own punch list, so lots to do...

Starting Stats: 175.0 @ 24.0% (41.9 fat/133.1 lean) Week 0 Stats: 175.3 @ 23.3% (40.9 fat/134.4 lean) Week 1 Stats: 173.9 @ 22.2% (38.7 fat/135.3 lean) Week 2 Stats: 169.7 @ 21.5% (36.4 fat / 133.3 lean)
Week 2 Results: -4.2 lbs / -0.7% (-2.3 fat/-2.0 lean) Overall Results: -5.3 lbs / -2.5% (-5.5 fat / +0.2 lean)
Notes: Workouts 0/4, Cardio 1/5 (although I did my cinder block workout again yesterday, but only for 12 twelve reps). Stretching/Foam Rolling: I did not do this, but I am moving it up on my priority list this week.
Looks like my water weight fell off, as my hydration level has increased about 2% since going back to drinking a full gallon of fluids (iced diet green tea). I'm very pleased with the fat loss, of course... I will admit to eating less than what my trainer has recommended, but kept the macros the same. When I start lifting more often (which will gradually get added to my schedule in the next two weeks) I'll add those calories back in as I will need the energy.
In Non-Fitness news: I just got back from a stealth trip across state lines to shop in (gasp) Delaware, which is one of the strictest on enforcement of the "travel ban" mandates. It was a very successful run to Walmart and Home Depot, where I got everything from 15 dozen eggs, 12 lbs of frozen fish, and 20 bags of frozen veggies (and hay for the bunny boy) to 400 lbs of top soil, 200 lbs of mulch, interior and exterior lighting, lumber, another heated towel rack (damn, those f*ckers are expensive) and in the only time I can actually say this and mean it, the kitchen sink. And as a bonus, I also stumbled across a replacement grill for the smoker on clearance for four bucks, and scored some green... plants (good sized violas in full bloom) for a buck each. One more thing I got? One of those flat panel radiant wall heaters - which I do not know anything about, but like the fact that they only stick out from the wall less than an inch - anyone have experience with these?

Delaware rules are tough. I understand not wanting the throngs on the beach like what happened on the weekend before lock down and resulted in closing the beaches. I also understand requesting people like me not to shelter in place using their second home as there really is limited health care facilities in the Lewes - Rehoboth area. I don't understand preventing people like you who live on the border from shopping at the stores deemed essential that you would normally shop at.

I still have my old pickup truck.

Well, it added an element of danger to the trip, that's for sure.

You are single handedly keeping the American economy going. Buying so many eggs, you should think about raising a few chickens. it would probably be cheaper, and the quality of the eggs would be better than store bought eggs.

There is a significant upfront expense with chickens, although many people have them in my community. They are also highly disease prone, so its not a reliable and plentiful protein sourse... unless you cook em and eat em at some point. As far as the value of the eggs, at $1.50 for an eighteen pack at Walmart (which is three days worth) I probably couldn't cover the cost of feeding and keeping chickens. I think they are more of a status symbol thing, which is fine if you a) have a small family that might consume, say 3-4 eggs a day, or b) you are planning to sell some of the eggs, at which point the economy of scale to have, say, six dozen a day would make sense. Finally, given that I am only using the whites of the eggs for most of that meal, I'm really not concerned with the quality of the eggs. Again, if I was only eating a few eggs a week, I'd want them to taste amazing (and served on an english muffin), but with the volume of eggs I am eating on a daily basis, it really doesn't matter.
Speaking of food-stuff, I purchased, prepared, and consumed a new (to me) kind of fish... swai. From what I understand it's a Vietnamese catfish variety, and while the flavor was closer to tilapia than catfish, the texture was more like the latter. I just baked it at 425 for 20mins with some seasonings, and three filets yielded two meals worth of protein, which is an acceptable cost per serving ratio. It was perfectly edible, but I don't think I would choose it over, say flounder or even better, rockfish. I did start putting some feelers out there that I was looking to buy 50lbs of the local rockfish (we are in "trophy season," where one fish can yield 20-25lbs of meat) but so far no offers. Well, I blindly bought fifteen pounds of this swai, so I'll be eating it for a few weeks.

Yet ANOTHER cold, grey, and rainy day... so I only was asked to work a half day. To be honest, I am pretty beat down from two and a half weeks of pulling weeds for five or six hours a day (in fact, yesterday I came home from doing that at work to putting in another four hours doing the same thing here at the property), so a "free afternoon" to zone out, not think about the house, and watch some TV wrapped up in a blanket on the couch is a good thing indeed.
Along those lines, today is the first day I am really feeling "hungry"... or rather, I feel like I want to eat a large quantity of food. This is the fourth week I have been working with my coach, and from a nutritional standpoint, the changes he made to what I was doing in the past when "cutting" (and really, when are any of us not "cutting"?) have really been effective, and the fat is still falling off at an astonishing rate. I'm actually looking forward to taking my thirty-day pictures this weekend.
Man... I can't get warm today (I did work outside in the damp mist all morning). I had actually put away (or more accurately, put into a location where it will get moved into storage when I open up the space) the electric fireplace I had been using to heat the den where I have been hanging out, but I just put it back into the room... it's only going to get colder tonight. For as bad as the weather had been this week, they are still saying it will be down into the 30's on Saturday night. It doesn't look like the wife will be down this weekend... in fat, I think I started my program the day after I saw her last. Besides, it's Mother's Day and she said she wants to be with the boys, which I completely understand.
Finally, I have to rave about the Keurig Duo that we got for Christmas this year. I use the carafe side to brew twelve cups tea in the morning, and use the k-cup side on the odd occasion I want a coffee. I just made myself a Cafe Mocha (I got a selection of k-cups and the rack to hold them from my boss since she no longer uses them), which was delicious. I wonder if those flavored coffees have sugar/sweetener is them? Anyway, the unit itself is very well designed (my go-to coffee go-cup fits perfectly), and the 12oz button brews it with just enough room for a couple ice cubes if needed. Today, they weren't needed...

I can't get warm today (I did work outside in the damp mist all morning). I always get cold when I'm cutting. It's almost more pronounced than the hunger, or at least more persistent. I have to rave about the Keurig Duo that we got for Christmas this year. That looks like a good space saving contraption. I don't like K-cup coffee but it'll do in a pinch, but I'm not giving up counter space for the Keurig we have (it's boxed up in the basement). I may get one of those when this coffee maker goes.
