That's a terrible story about the parking lot death.
Totally agree with you about the variability of the weather.

I wonder what model year car she was driving. Maybe the safety features of a newer model car would have prevented this type of accident. Eventually hopefully self driving cars will stop these type of accidents.

Tues - 3/19. It is cold today also, but the air feels crisp. No cardio at the gym today. I had the time, I didn't feel like stepping on the treadmill today. I am sure I will regret that later, when I am walking in the cold tonight. Yesterday I was off from work. I got my oil changed. I no longer have that annoying message every time I turn on the car that the car needs an oil change.

Weds - 3/20. For years in the park & ride, people only parked in actual spots. You were ticketed if you weren't parked in legal spot (I know from experience). Now that the flood gates opened, people park all along the perimeter, and now some are even parking on the grass. Even so, yesterday I still couldn't even get a spot, but today I did get one along the perimeter. It helps having a small car. Like I wrote yesterday, I would regret not walking on the treadmill in the morning. It was a chore to reach 23K yesterday. I would have let the streak go yesterday, but I knew today was a cardio only day, so I would easily reach 23K today. I already have 20K, and I haven't walked at lunch time yet.

Thurs - 3/21. I jinxed myself yesterday by writing the below comment. I return to my car after the bus ride home, and there is a ticket on it. $55.00. How unfair. There are 4 parking lots at the park and ride, built around an exit on the Garden State Parkway. Three of the lots have signs saying no parking around the sides of the parking lot. The lot I parked in has no such sign. But I am not wasting my time going to fight the ticket in the municpal court. It is a useless fight, I would lose. Today I got a spot in the park & ride. The heavy days are Tues and Weds. Monday and Thursday are iffy, Friday there always are spots.

Park the car in the same spot and set it on fire. Then contest the ticket saying the car was stolen, parked there, and destroyed (on their property)... and sue them for not properly securing the lot from arson. File a claim with your insurance company, get a new car, a nice settlement check, and bob's your uncle.

The only fly in the ointment is that my 9 year old car probably has a value of 5K, not enough to buy a new car. Thanks Thanks Yesterday's steps: 24367; w-t-d: 26429; m-t-d: 24678; y-t-d: 22726 Gym (yesterday): back / ab training; 20 treadmill (0 running - balance walking); 26 sauna Friday - 3/22. I am going to try to keep my step streak going until the end of this month. Starting 4/01, I plan on walking less, running more. That is assuming there is no bump up in my weight with the change. I am also going to try scaling back on calories, but I always say that, and it never happens. Yesterday's steps: 23541; w-t-d: 25487; m-t-d: 24863; y-t-d: 22872 Gym (yesterday): back / abs training; 20 treadmill (0 running - balance walking); 26 sauna Tues - 3/26. Last night about 10:30 pm I take my blood pressure, and the average for the 3 times it takes it was 95 /50. Then thinking that must be an error, I take it again (3 reading average), and it is 98 / 51. I felt fine, I take it this morning it was back to normal 120 / 62. The morning is supposed to give the highest reading of the day. So I am going to try skipping the blood pressure pills starting next Monday, and see what happens to the readings. Tomorrow I am taking off from work. I am having the testosterone blood test retaken, after stopping the biotin about 2 weeks ago. In the afternoon, I am going to the eye doctor, for an exam, and to most likely schedule a date for the cataract surgery. It sort of ironic, I delayed the surgery for about 3 years, thinking most of the cost will be covered by the insurance once I am on medicare, and it wasn't urgent surgery. Now I am not enrolling in medicare (part B), so there was no point in waiting. In better news, Tuesdays are the worst day for getting a spot in the park & ride (it is the new Monday after the pandemic). I was thinking maybe some schools are off this week, since it is Good Friday this coming Friday, and Easter is Sunday. There were 2 spots left, and I got one of them. vegan: m-t-d: 10 ; y-t-d: 21 vegetarian: m-t-d: 0; y-t-d: 14 pescatarian: m-t-d: 12; y-t-d: 20 other: m-t-d: 3; y-t-d: 30 total days: m-t-d: 25; y-t-d: 85 Morning blood pressure: last night: 95 / 50 HR 56; 98/51 HR 51 today: 120 / 62 HR 55 Streaks: 1. Interesting about your BP. When I was regularly testing mine, I was relatively stable between the beginning and end of the day readings with the latter readings being slightly lower. Before that I would have been sure that the early readings, after snoozing, would be lower.
Wishing you well with the cataract surgery.

You would think the morning would be lowest, but the internet says otherwise. It is not a huge difference, but that is what they say. I would think when I am at work it is highest. Yesterday's steps: 23372; w-t-d: 24959; m-t-d: 24805; y-t-d: 22878 Gym (yesterday): leg training; 25 treadmill (0 running - balance walking); 26 sauna Weds - 3/27. I had my testosterone blood test this morning, soon going to the eye doctor. At the Quest Diagnostic labs, I did learn that if you have an appointment, instead of being a walk in, they really do take you first. I just got there, and signed in, there was a waiting room full of people, yet I had an appointment, and they called me first. Happy Whopper Wednesday. After my vision appointment, I am going to Burger King for an Impossible burger. The government data allege inflation has lowered, not in the area of food it hasn't. When I am in the supermarket, I am amazed by the high prices (except for bananas). Also canned tuna fish. The food stores keep on having it on sale every week for the last few weeks or even months for $1.00 a can. It was $1.00 a can 10 years ago or even longer when it was on sale. vegan: m-t-d: 11 ; y-t-d: 22 vegetarian: m-t-d: 0; y-t-d: 14 pescatarian: m-t-d: 12; y-t-d: 20 other: m-t-d: 3; y-t-d: 30 total days: m-t-d: 26; y-t-d: 86 Morning blood pressure: today: 127 / 66 HR 58 (no blood pressure pill last night) Streaks: 1.
