2020 Session 21:
A Squat 110kg/242lbs x 5, 5, 5
Squat 65kg x 12, 12
B Bench Press 72.5kg/154lbs x 5, 5, 5
Bench 42.5kg x 12, 12
C1 Back Extension 5 kg x 10 x 10 2.5kg x 10
C2 Dips x 13, 11
Not a bad session. Headed to the gym at the same time as my partner so ran out of time to complete three sets of dips or get on the treadmill. I've mentioned recently that motivation has dipped and so it was tonight. I'm going to give myself the rest of this week as a slightly relaxed week re training and diet and hopefully tighten-up for the next two weeks.
Last Friday I skipped the gym. We went into London's West End (Leicester Square). Pubs and restaurants were rammed (Friday night, payday) so we ended up eating at Burger King and then grabbed a drink in the bar at the cinema. Watched a new film called Color from Space, starring Nicolas Cage and with a Question and Answer session with the Director, Richard Stanley. The Director is an interesting character with a interesting but limited film output. It's the first time that my partner has been to an event like that. I really enjoyed both the film and the Q&A. On Saturday I went to my nephews (plural) birthday party. Sunday, I did all the usual chores and washed the car. I also managed to successfully make a casserole. I'll be eating it for half the week.
Scale weight this morning 183.6lbs @ 25.0%bf.

I love to hear you talk LOL. Is it the British dialect? Yes... that and the fact when you use words like "pie" and "chips" it doesn't sound like a bad thing.

Nice squat.
Sounds like a interesting evening. I think Q&A with the director would shed a lot of light on the intent of the film. Were there parts that made more sense after hearing him explain it?

I've been to a few events where the director speaks afterward and they've always been interesting hearing their inputs about the nuances of the respective film.
Nice workout!

I've been to a few events where the director speaks afterward and they've always been interesting hearing their inputs about the nuances of the respective film. Nice workout! The film itself didn't need a great deal of clarification. As expected the Q & A focused a little more on how the project came together and the director's previous directing experience. This was the director's first feature in 23 years. He is well known (to genre aficionados at least) for being the director on the ill fated adaptation of The Island of Doctor Moreau in 1996 where, amongst other things, a falling out with Val Kilmer and issues with Marlon Brando led to him being fired from the project and replaced by John Frankenheimer. Richard Stanley was rumoured (truthfully it appears) to have snuck back onto set as an extra after hiding out in the vicinity of the shoot. It's sometimes fascinating to hear about the film productions that descend into disaster. The film Lost in La Mancha about Terry Gilliam's attempt to film The Man Who Killed Don Quixote which went spectacularly wrong is a great example.

Graham, based on your last post you're clearly much more of a film aficionado than I am.
How did you multi quote both my and Mac's messages? TIA.

Hit quote on Seltzer's message, copied it with the quote tags. Clicked back to journal. Hit quote on your message then copied Seltzer's in above it.

There's been some discussion around Coronavirus/COVID-19 on this forum recently.
I got a telephone call from my partner this morning. I usually collect her from home at around 8am and then drive us to work. Her daughter is unwell with symptoms which match that of Coronavirus. She had telephoned the 111 non-emergency National Health Service line this morning and, based on symptoms, has been referred for a consultation with a paramedic/doctor. She's currently awaiting a call back. Approaching a 6 hour wait so-far as they are extremely busy.
There is a concern that we've obviously had contact with her, my partner more directly but myself through being in the same household for a period of time and more direct contact with my partner. We've both had a little sneezing/sniffling the last few days although those aren't the same symptoms as COVID-19. We've both contacted our managers at work and the decision has been made to stay at home as a precaution until such time as my partner's daughter has had a consultation and to then follow such advice as is given. Not much to do until that time other than to do some reading and wait. Fortunately, we'll both receive special-leave with pay so will feel no financial impact and it won't be counted as sick leave.

Good luck on all of you not having it. Most likely that isn't it, but good to have it checked out, before possibly contaminating others. Pretty scary.

No update other than a call back to say she's not been forgotten about and she will receive a call at some point. I've called my manager and given up on going into work today. I won't go to the gym tonight but can get on with some other things now.
The number of confirmed cases in the UK has increased significantly today so it's clear that the health service is under pressure.

Graham, wishing you, your partner, and her daughter well. Yeah, ditto. That's got to be frustrating to just be waiting given the issue.

Graham, wishing you, your partner, and her daughter well. Thanks. The call came in at about 7:30pm. She got booked an appointment at the local hospital at 9:45pm. No diagnosis of Coronavirus but she does have a chest infection for which she's been prescribed antibiotics. My partner and I were back to work today.
