I thought Murray once announced he was retiring. In early 2019 he said he intended to play Wimbledon in 2019 and then stop. He changed his mind when his hip-resurfacing surgery went well and after talking to Bob Bryan who'd had the same/similar surgery. He looked like a player who could (if he avoided significant further injury) win tournaments. Winning Grand Slams might well remain out of reach but there are plenty of ATP tournaments which are a whole lot easier to play.

Another solid workout. Could be my last for a little while. Will be working overtime on Saturday and going away for a few nights next week to Northern Ireland. I'm not expecting to fit in a workout between now and Monday between work, packing to go away and general chores.

Last update before I turn in, up at 4:30am to head to the airport.
Not much in the way of exercise other than a walk on Friday lunchtime.
I don't imagine the diet will be very strict this coming week but there will be a lot of walking. We already have a couple of walking tours booked.
Scale weight this morning 181lbs @23.6%bf. Lowest readings of the year so far.

14/09/2021:
Back to the gym yesterday after my week away. Will try to get some pictures of the trip but it was a very interesting trip overall. Not relaxing as we did a lot while away.
Bench: 40kg x 8 - 56kg x 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8
Chins: BW x 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8
Brief workout in the garage gym. My partner was feeling rather tired so we skipped the gym and I went into the garage. Used my new bench for the first time. It's not as robust as my other bench but being smaller and lighter, it's more comfortable for benching and easy to move around. Didn't have time to Deadlift so will fit that in elsewhere this week.
Not surprised to see some weight gain last week. There was a buffet breakfast at the hotel and, to be honest, when a buffet is available, I hit it like it's going to be the last meal I ever have. Diet has been a bit off so far this week but I'm cleaning it up as the week goes along so will be fully back on track by the weekend.
Scale weight 184.5lbs @ 24.4%bf.

I feel the same way. With covid, at least in the Northeast part of the US, buffets are mostly a thing of the past. I used to like Chinese Buffets, usually the quality is not as good as in a regular Chinese restaurant. But since I am more of a quantity eater than a quality eater, that is not a problem for me.

We were actually slightly surprised to see the buffet. Northern Ireland had, until last Friday, Similar restrictions to those that we had earlier in the Summer. For example, restaurants and bars were all table service only so there'd be no buffets in restaurants. Hotels do have different rules to many establishments like restaurants and bars though so may account for the difference.

16/09/21:
Squat: 60kg x 8 - 85kg x 8, 8, 8, 8, 8
Press: 20kg x 8 - 29kg x 8, 8, 8, 8, 8
Leg Raise x 14, 14
Crunch x 14, 14
Side Bend 16.5kg x 14, 14
Not quite a full workout again as can't easily do dips in the garage gym (where I was again tonight). Want to get Deadlifts done this week so may do those on Saturday.
Decent enough workout although the garage seems to be filling up with junk/boxes so it needs a clear-out.
Diet was just about spot on today so we'll see how the scale reacts in the coming days.
Scale weight 184.5lbs @ 24.4%bf.
Edit:- Should have added that I walked to and from my partners house this evening rather than driving. Added 20 minutes of walking to activity for the day.

Not a lot of exercise this week. My fault I've been watching movies and tennis.
Went to see Alien at the cinema on Monday night, hadn't seen it on the big screen for a while. I did part on the other size of town to the cinema which meant I had a fifteen minute walk each way. I intend to do the same this evening as I'm going to watch Aliens which I've not previously seen in the cinema/theatre?
I'll see if I can fit some resistance exercise in during the next few days.
Yesterday's scale weight 182.5lbs @23.9%bf Today's 183.3lbs @24.1%bf

I've been bad at updating recently, always getting distracted by something even when I've been on the forum.
So, to update:
No work-outs last week. Loads of movie watching, reading and watching of sports (Tennis and Football (not soccer)). I did make sure to get out and walk regularly though.
Gym on Tuesday:
Deadlift: 60kg x 8 - 93kg x 8, 8, 8
Bench: 40kg x 8 - 56kg x 8, 8, 8, 8
Chins: BW x 6, 6, 6, 6
Abs: Leg Raise: x 14, 14
Crunch: x 14, 14
Side Bend: 16kg x 14, 14
Backed off a little on the reps as I always get severe DOMs if I launch back into it after a break.
Will be heading to the gym tonight.
It's been a very consistent period of weight loss/fat loss for the last six months. Pleased with how consistent I've been. In both 2019 and 2020 (pandemic didn't help) I lost weight too quickly and then gained weight back too quickly. Too much muscle loss followed by too much fat gain. I'm keen to do some harder training so when I reach 175lbs, 22%bf or 30th November (whichever comes first) I'm going to try a re-composition/gaintaining/lean bulk phase for a while.
Scale weight today 180.5lbs @ 23.4%bf - lowest readings of the year for both.

30/09/2021:
Squat: 60kg x 8 - 85kg x 8, 8, 8, 8
Press: 20kg x 8 - 28kg x 8, 8, 8, 8
Dips: BW x 8, 8, 8, 8
Leg Raise x 14, 14
Crunch x 14, 14
Side Bend 16kg x 14, 14
Decent workout. Went on my own as was late finishing work and my partner decided that she would skip it rather than wait around for me to turn up (she was working in the office). I was glad that I motivated myself to go when I could easily have not gone myself.
Edit: Noticed that my gym belt felt a little lose when squatting today. Quite comfortably pulled it in an extra notch so that is useful feedback. Fairly sure that when I went back t the gym in April I could tighten to the second notch and now the fourth.

Gym on Tuesday 06/10/2021:
Deadlift: 60kg x 8 - 94kg x 8, 8, 8
Bench: 40kg x 8 - 57kg x 8, 8, 8, 8
Chins: BW x 7, 6, 6, 6
Abs: Leg Raise: x 14, 14
Crunch: x 14, 14
Side Bend: 16kg x 14, 14
Decent workout.
Diet has been a bit off. Indian takeaway and a few beers on Saturday. A takeaway every few weeks is built into my plan so no real issue. On Sunday I was watching a movie and someone on the screen took a drink of what I assume was Bourbon. That set me off. A couple of bourbons later and the potato chips we opened too. Monday night the diet was better but I still had a couple of beers. Diet on point Tuesday and Wednesday (so far).
Scale Weight: 4th: 182.3lbs @ 23.9%bf 5th: 183lbs @ 24.1%bf 6th: 181.5lbs @ 23.6&bf
US Airforce caused a bit of a stir in London today. What I think were four F-15s flew at low level across East London passing almost directly over my house. I didn't see them the first time but certainly heard them. On their return I looked out the window and they were coming almost directly at the house. Made the local and national news as people were rather surprised by it. Flight path went over Tottenham so it was almost certainly a test flight for a fly-over of the NFL game there this coming Sunday.
