Well, I somehow got signed up to "run" a 5k on Thanksgiving morning.
Since I can't remember the last time I actually ran, this might be fun.
Nope, probably not. But I'm doing it. God help us all.

You'll be fine. It is only a 5K and you just hiked a very strenuous 20 miler.

Have a good race tomorrow. From my experience with your running, you don't need to train.

IIRC, Mr. P'dude ran a marathon with less than a total of 26 miles of training. Phil, you got this!

Sorry for the delay in responding... computer problems. I was going to post from my phone, but I couldn't find a way to attach photos.
I finished the 5k in 42.42. Ran the first quarter mile, walked the next 3/4. Ran the next half, walked the next half. Then ran the last 1.1 to the finish.
We always said you know you are slow when you get passed by the walkers. I got passed by two old ladies WITH walkers.

Hi kids... happy 2022 to you all.
I'm still alive... COVID ain't got me yet!
Got some plans for this year, working at getting everything flowing at once.
Son #1 graduates from college this year. Son #2 is in Budapest for the semester.
House is still a work in progress. But progress every day... that's how winning is done.

So can anyone fill me in on the highlights of what's happening here (so I can just pick up and start reading journals again)?

Let's see,
Shamie is a vegetarian, still walking 15 to 20 k steps per day and is the only one who hasn't had Covid.
I ran a marathon in November. I started another run streak Thanksgiving day. I found out I had Omicron on Christmas Eve after a work trip to California the week before. My case was nothing more than a runny nose and a cough. I ran everyday during my illness. My next marathon is 4/24 in Rehoboth. I also plan on running an Ultra this year.
You should read SEltzer's journal to get caught up on the wedding plans. He had a more severe case of Covid (no hospital fortunately) and just returned to working out this week.
Graham was the first of us to get Covid. His case was similar to mine. He has started another round of 5/3/1.
That is it in a nutshell. Except for us having Covid, we all just kept on keeping on.

Thanks Mac. I'll start with Seltzer's journal when I'm not hungry... I'm guessing there's a lot of food talk.

Phil, that's great that son #1 will be starting his last semester. As for son #2 both of my kids went to Budapest while studying abroad and thought it was beautiful.
Wishing you well with your plans for 2022 which I know includes the house.

Happy New Year.
Really enjoyed a trip to Budapest a few years ago. Really beautiful place. Great value food and drink outside of the tourist areas and I thought the public transport was pretty good. I was there in a scorching hot Summer and enjoyed both the thermal baths and cooling off in the cool Baths. Could really enjoy the Thermal baths at this time of year. There is also an odd, not fully explained link/fascination with Columbo/Peter Falk.
