Yesterday's steps: 22220; w-t-d: 24503; m-t-d: 21154; y-t-d: 17448 Gym (yesterday): back training; 35 treadmill (before lifting); 25 sauna Weds - 9/15. Slept through the 2 alarms this morning, woke up at 5:20. Usually I would have bagged going to the gym, but I am working remotely today, so I had the extra time from not commuting. As I drove past the park & ride coming home from the gym, it looked about 50% full. I wonder if it will ever go back to the way it was before the pandemic. The lease in the building I work in ends Dec 2022. I am thinking at that time, they will get a smaller space, and I will be working at home most of the time. Now they have a totally different thought process regarding working in the office. Now they think, why are we spending so much money for office space, when we can get the same work done without spending the money. I think that the current space is 20K square feet, I hear they are looking at spaces 5-6K, which doesn't leave much room for me. If that was the case, I would start eating immediately. Yesterday's steps: 22008; w-t-d: 24004; m-t-d: 21211; y-t-d: 17466 Gym (yesterday): shoulder training; 35 treadmill (before lifting); 25 sauna Thurs - 9/16. Rest day from the gym today. Yesterday was Whopper Wednesday, I was tempted at lunch time to go to Burger King to get the Impossible Burger. But, even though it is vegan, it isn't a good source of nutrition, so sadly I didn't get it. Usually I don't wake up hungry, but today is not the case, and thinking about that Impossible Burger, has got me hungrier. I did have a thought last night, you would have eaten that Impossible Burger in less than 5 minutes, it would be gone now, and I saved 630 calories by not having it. Friday - 9/17. Pretty good session at the gym today (back training; 45 treadmill 3/4 walking; 1/4 running). One benefit the drain problem at my house is that I am pretty much forced to go to the gym (if I want to take a shower). My drain insurance started the day after Labor day (9/07), so the coverage won't start until 10/07, in 20 more days. It could be more, since once I call them after 30 days, I am sure they won't be showing up that day (hopefully sometime within a week). TGIF.

It likely a tree root issue; about fifteen years ago we had a main sewer line blockage caused by roots. Fortunately, there was no house damage and the backup was in our basement toilet. We wound up calling a sewer and drain person who took care of the issue and I don't remember it being very expensive. I hope the solution to your issue is just as easy.

Since I bought the insurance, and am through 1/3 of the period so far, I am going to continue until the insurance coverage kicks in. I sort of want to see if the water pipe / drain coverage is a scam. I have been paying for the water pipe coverage for as long as I remember. It would be good to find out if it is real coverage, or a scam like the auto warranty coverage that other companies sell. At the very least, I will save money by knowing this, so I can cancel the insurance (if it does turn out to be a scam). I thought it was valid since it was offered through the utility company (Suez). But now I think they just get a fee for letting this company use their name in the mailings, so it looks more official.
Yesterday's steps: 20072; w-t-d: 23179; m-t-d: 21200; y-t-d: 17494 Gym (yesterday): back training; 45 treadmill; 25 sauna
Sat - 9/18. This week, calories averaged 2947; carbs 437 grams (59%); protein 92 grams (13%); fat 99 grams (30%); saturated fat: 38 grams (11.53%); sodium 2137 mg. Calories for the week totaled 20632 vs 21682 the prior week, a decrease of 5%. Steps were 162K this week vs 136K last week, an increase of 19% (a weekly record for this year). Gym visits: 6.
It seems Ironic that the saturated fat has spiked so high (almost 12% of macro's this week), considering I have been a vegetarian the whole period. the reason is mostly due to cheese (spinach lasagna). Once I am done with the remaining cheese in my refrigerator, it will be smooth sailing (regarding saturated fat).

Mon - 9/20. Yesterday, my laptop wouldn't connect to the wireless. I know the wireless is working, because the I-pad is working. I did what microsoft tells you to do in these situations, turn of the computer, turn of the wireless, and restart, and no change. I don't know if this is the reason, I googled the laundermat in town, to see their hours (drain problem, still can't use the washing machine). I connected to their website, and it wasn't their real website. Next thing I knew, I got a message from what looked like google, but now I don't think was. After that, next time I started the computer, it would not connect to the wireless. I brought it to my office to see if the MIS guy who is working remotely can fix it. Since it can't connect remotely, I have my doubts that he will be able to solve the problem. It is problematic, since I can't work remotely again until it is fixed. Lucky tomorrow and Wednesday are Jewish holiday's, so my office is closed.

Yesterday's steps: 22211; w-t-d: 22168; m-t-d: 21345; y-t-d: 17547 Gym (yesterday): arm training; 50 treadmill (40 before lifting; 10 after lifting); 25 sauna Tues - 9/21. Today is my first time in a library sitting at one of their computers, since before the start of the pandemic. I would say there are 2 or 3 other people at the most, outnumbered by the staff. I think people are out of the habit of going to the library, and that I don't think will recover after the pandemic ends. My laptop is still not fixed. The MIS guy had me connect it by cable to the phone, like it was my office PC. That wouldn't connect to the internet either. So he couldn't connect to it. He told me to take it to the computer person in the office in Sayreville, NJ. That guy is working remotely Thurs & Friday, so either they try again and fix it remotely, or it will not be working until I can go to Sayrveville (even then only if the person there can fix it). It does work for everything but the internet. I wasn't going to go to the gym today, when I woke up I felt bloated, and unmotivated to go. But I knew I would feel better after going, and I was correct. I feel fine now. This time when I made the spinach lasagna, I didn't forget to add the ricotta. It is 100% better with the ricotta. The ricotta and mozzarella were both past their expiration date. As was the spinach. I am not sure if they were expiration dates, or "best before dates", but either way I was preparing myself mentally to potentially get sick from eating it. But it tasted very good, and there was no sickness involved. How is that for a review of my cooking. Weds - 9/22. I was hoping to be 185 lb 9/30. I have to be extremely disciplined the rest of the month for that to happen, and I need some luck. Again I am in the library, but a different library. Same thing as the other library, it is empty, and I am the only one at the computers. I must have butt dialed 911, as I was walking into the library, I get a call from the police, to find out what the emergency is. I don't want the police coming to my home, and finding nobody there, and breaking down the door. I don't know if they do that, but that is what I imagine.

Hopefully the scenario you imagined with the police didn't happen, but my understanding is that they are obligated to show up. Before the cell phone era it meant them coming to the house, but protocol may have changed in the cell phone era and they now come to origin of the call.
Why, you may ask, do I have some probably outdated information about 911 calls. Fair question. When dear son was in pre-school, so he was about 4, his teacher instructed the class that if there was an emergency because mommy or daddy were in trouble they should call 911 and the police would come to help. Dear son took it upon himself to make a call shortly afterward and we received a phone call from the PD inquiring about the situation and telling us an officer would be there shortly. A few days later there was a repeat as we were getting dressed to go to a wedding. This time the PD sent a massive human being who thoroughly explained to dear son why he shouldn't do what he did. The officer concluded by saying, "Call 411. They like to talk."
Sorry for the semi hijack, but what you wrote brought back some memories that weren't funny at the time, but are now.

But I don't think they can do much remotely, if it can't connect to the internet. If it isn't fixed today, I am taking it to get repaired onthe weekend, and my employer will pay to have it fixed. I am leery of taking it somewhere to be repaired, since personal information like tax returns are on it. I need to password protect them, and even after that, I am still leery. Yesterday was my first day over 4K calories in 2021, and also my worst day for saturated fat. I went to a Columbian restaurant. The only vegetarian item on the (big) menu was cheese quesadillas. I realized after that meal, that cheese has much more saturated fat than if I had eaten chicken breasts or fish, they would have been a better choice. I estimated that meal at 2,000 calories, google listed the cheese quesadillas at Chipote at 670 calories. I have never been to Chipolte, but I doubled that for this restaurant. Also I had 2 small desserts from the takeout bakery, I made estimated them at 660 calories, to round off at 2,000 calories. September will most likely be my worst month of the year so far for saturated fat. Computer is still not fixed, I am at a different local library in the next town that is open on Sundays. I can't deal with doing the update on my I-pad.

Hopefully you will get your computer fixed soon. I guess if it can't connect to the internet, it will need to go to a repair shop where a person can look at it directly.

Tomorrow I am taking it to a place my brother recommended. That should be a red flag to me in itself, my brother used to think very highly of Sears Automotive. But I know of no other place. Yesterday's steps: 23085; w-t-d: 22897; m-t-d: 21704; y-t-d: 17666 Gym (yesterday): chest training; 80 treadmill; 25 sauna Mon - 9/27. Working in NY today. 10 more days until I can call to have my sewer drain serviced through the insurance company. I was talking to my brother in law, they had the same issue a few years back, tree roots into their sewer pipes caused their problem. It cost them 4K to have new pipes put in. Hopefully this insurance is reputable, and the issue will be corrected sometime in mid October.
