I had the new McDonald's Chicken McGriddle sandwich for breakfast yesterday and it was f*ckin' amazing. If the closest McDonald's wasn't 20 minutes away, I'd eat that sh*t every day. And I would be even fatter than I am now. Besides, I'm starting my twelve-step week program on Monday, so no more junk food for a while.
Except on that one day a week when I'm planning to indulge my cravings. And even then, maybe not so much.

I hear the Popeyes new chicken sandwhich is very good. A contender to Chic-Fil-A. I am tempted to try it, but I think it is best for me not to know how good it is. Once I try it, I will always crave it. Yesterday's steps: 666; m-t-d: 7,923; y-t-d average: 12,339 (battery on Garmin was dead, didn't have it on most of the day). After workout protein shake: day 46/46. Days without eating: splenda; equal; sweet & low: 10 Sunday: 3/8/20: back; ab training, 30 elliptical (before lifting). Sauna: 30 minutes. m-t-d workouts: 8/8. I decided to not run anytime in the near future. Running tends to wear down my immune system. Many times when I run a lot, I feel a cold coming on. With this corona virus, I need as much immunity as possible. Also I take a drug "methotrexate" once a week (Sundays), 8 pills totaling 20 grams. I am cutting the dosage by 25%, and taking 6 pills today. Better to have a flareup of psoriasis, then to die from corona virus. I would stop it totally, but I don't want a jolt to my system. I am going to lower the dose each week by 2 pills. I wonder how long it will take my immune system to function normally. Tomorrow - cardio. Yesterday's steps: 11,352; m-t-d: 8,652; y-t-d average: 12,415 After workout protein shake: day 47/47. Days without eating: splenda; equal; sweet & low: 11 Monday: 3/9/20: 60 elliptical; 20 treadmill. Sauna: 25 minutes. m-t-d workouts: 9/9. Today I was thinking, I wonder if people started to work remotely due to corona virus, maybe first I should check out the park & ride, before I drive to the shopping mall to park. It was emptier than a typical Friday. Today is supposed to be almost 70 degrees, so there will be a long walk at lunch time. The bright side of having a whey shake everyday, I am finally finishing off the whey containers I have in my house. What happens is, I buy a container, don't like the flavor or taste, then buy a new container, with a different flavor, and this goes on and on, and soon I have 10 containers that are barely used. I just started my 4th container since I stated having whey each day. My goal is to finish every container in my house before purchasing a new container. Going forward, I think it is only chocolate or vanilla for me. Tomorrow - shoulders / squats. Believe you can, believe you can't, either way you are correct.Did anyone ever buy a whey protein that they didn't, at best, tolerate the taste of? The one I'm currently using is the best I've ever tasted but I wouldn't say I like it.

The one I'm currently using is the best I've ever tasted but I wouldn't say I like it. I am using EAS strawberry now. It isn't bad, but like you say, it is difficult to get a good tasting whey. If it did taste good, it probably has a lot of sugar or artificial sweetener. Since I just add water, and mix it in a shaker at the gym, it doesn't taste great. At home, if I put it in the blender with ice, it improves the taste. When I start buying whey again, after I finish my humongous supply, I am going to buy grass fed whey. Unless it is hugely more expensive, I never checked that out. Yesterday's steps: 17,576; m-t-d: 9,767; y-t-d average: 12,490 After workout protein shake: day 48/48. Days without eating: Splenda; Equal: 12 Tuesday: 3/11/20: shoulders; triceps; legs (only squats). Sauna: 25 minutes. m-t-d workouts: 10/10. I have 2 alarms set 10 minutes apart. They have a really annoying sound and they go one for about 90 seconds. Today I didn't even hear the first alarm, and woke up on the 2nd alarm. That made me think, maybe I should take a rest day today. But I thought, it might be better to take one tomorrow (midweek). I had a fairly good workout. But I guess I really was tired, I slept the whole commute this morning, in a pretty deep sleep (judging how i felt when I arrived in NYC). Tomorrow - chest / cardio (or a rest day). Did anyone ever buy a whey protein that they didn't, at best, tolerate the taste of? I'm using Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Double Rich Chocolate and enjoy it in milk. In water it's tolerable but not good. I've tried other flavors (vanilla, regular chocolate) and didn't like them. JSF had a supplement sponsor/advertiser who's name I can't remember. I really enjoyed the taste of their protein powder and it dissolved really well in water. I ordered it again when I got back into supplementation and they'd changed the formula so that it just tasted like chemical sweetener.

Days without eating: Splenda; Equal: 13
Weds: 3/11/20: chest (5 exercises); 30 minutes elliptical. Sauna: 25 minutes. m-t-d workouts: 11/11. Weak flat bench press today. They cancelled the NYC half marathon that was supposed to be run this coming Sunday due to Corona Virus. That race was a big revenue generator for the NY Road Runners Club, and they said they are refunding the entry fees. It costs about $130.00, and roughly has 25K runners. Sad for all of the people who prepared, and especially the ones who were traveling to it from other states or countries. This, plus thousands of similar cancellations around the country, and you can imagine the negative effect on the economy. In the news yesterday, they had a negative story about sucralose (Splenda), from a Yale research study. Good I gave it up.

That makes the taste tolerable Vs mixing with water. I do put it in a blender. I can't tolerate it if lumpy

That makes the taste tolerable Vs mixing with water. I do put it in a blender. I can't tolerate it if lumpy I remember the protein powder: Nitrean from AtLarge Nutrition! It tasted great and mixed beautifully with water. I could put it in a shaker bottle with no agitator and just shake it up with no lumps. It's completely inedible now, unfortunately. Don't know why they had to mess with the formula.

Yesterday's steps: 12,432; m-t-d: 9,819; y-t-d average: 12,383 After workout protein shake: day 50/50. Days without eating: Splenda; Equal: 14 Thurs: 3/12/20: back; abs; 15 treadmill (warm up before lifting). Sauna: 25 minutes. m-t-d workouts: 12/12. "M" has a good memory, I was trying to remember "At Large Nutrition", but came up with a blank. I don't think I ever mixed the whey powder with milk, but I don't digest milk that well, so I probably will stick with water. I am getting too stressed out over the Corona Virus. People keep running into my office with updates, such as "did you hear they closed all of the stores in Italy", this happens every 5 minutes. I need the exercise as a stress reliever, if for no other reason. I can feel the stress right now in my neck. Help. I'm very glad I don't work in disaster response anymore. My default behavior is to stay home and avoid contact with other humans. It's not like anything in the news is going to change my routine. I need to just stop watching it. ...and yet I keep clicking refresh.

Shamie and M@, I think many are in the same boat with respect to trying to stay close to the news cycle. I like to stay informed about current events in normal times and I doubt the extra time I'm spending reading/watching the latest about the virus is doing me any good. Like you M@, I'm not changing my routine, which for me involves being home a lot anyway. We're fully stocked with food and paper goods to last probably about two months ( ) without having to buy anything; we just always have a lot of stuff in the house so it's not as if our current inventory is a reaction to what may happen and my previous estimate is just a pure guess since we've never had to test it. Like most folks our weak link is anything perishable, but for now we have at least a couple of weeks of fruit and veggies.

Yesterday's steps: 12,097; m-t-d: 10,009; y-t-d average: 12,379 After workout protein shake: day 51/51. Days without eating: Splenda; Equal: 15 Fridays: 3/13/20: legs; abs; 25 treadmill (before lifting). Sauna: 25 minutes. m-t-d workouts: 13/13. Today in my office they are doing a test, to have eveyone in the company work remotely. So I am at Starbucks. I spent the whole morning in Starbucks, and was planning to go to the local library after lunch to spend the rest of the workday. But I checked the library website, and virtually all of the libraries in Bergen County are closed for 2 weeks. So I will be spending the next 4 hours here at Starbucks. I could go home, but I get distracted. If you have balls, this is the time to buy stocks. As they say, the time to buy stocks is when there is panic in the streets, the time to sell them is when everyone is fat & happy. Boeing for example, even with the problems of the 300 Max, the stock was trading in the low 300's per share. It is roughly 165 when I last looked. After this "crisis" is over, some company is going to manufacturer jets, and basically there is only Boeing and Air Bus. Even if every airline wanted to stop buying Boeing jets, AirBus wouldn't have enough capacity. There are dozens of similiar situations. I read that in Italy, they closed all of the gyms. I expect my gym will close for a period of time any day now. It was desserted today, and went there later than usual, when it normally would have been more crowded. Even the Starbucks I am sitting in is desserted. Stay safe. TGIF.
